Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 1962

Estelle flicked her eyes, a gentle breeze teasing the stray hairs by her ears, casting a soft shadow on her fair and delicate cheeks. Her eyes sparkled like distant stars; her lips were the color of cherries, and her teeth as white as pearls. She exuded a tenderness that left one utterly disarmed.

She pressed her tender lips into a playful smile and said, “Why don’t you swing by and casually chat with him about the new energy sources?”

Jonathan let out a scoff, “I’d rather have a word with him about setting up a memorial for Stella!”

Estelle gasped, “You know about that?”

His gaze narrowed slightly, “Turns out you’re in the loop too! Did you tell him you’re Stella?”

She shook her head vigorously, “No, I didn’t!”

Stella was “gone”, and she wasn't about to bring her up to anyone!

Jonathan’s eyes were still cool and piercing, “Did you two know each other before? Shared a bond on the battlefield?”

After a moment's consideration, Estelle admitted, “To be honest, before I saw him, I didn’t remember him at all.”

“And after seeing him? Were you moved by the shrine he built for you?” He prodded.

Estelle paused, recalling Lambert’s words about not letting her spirit wander anymore, and confessed with serene honesty, “A little.”

Jonathan’s expression darkened. His eyes narrowed with a chilling intensity as he stood abruptly, “I’m going to see you, right now. Let's have a real talk about just how ‘little’ you were moved.”

Estelle got startled, “I was just kidding!”

“There’s nothing funny about it.” Jonathan rose to leave, “Babe, see you in a bit!”

With that, he ended the call.

Estelle slapped her phone against her forehead in frustration. Why did she have to say “a little”? Why did she underestimate this man’s possessiveness?

What now? Was Jonathan really going to confront Lambert about Stella?
