Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 518

After watching two movies, it was getting dark outside. Charlie asked Emily, "do you feel better?"

Emily nodded with a smile, "Much better. Your parents must be worried. You should go home!"

The rain had stopped.

Charlie agreed, "I'll take you home first."

Emily got into the car and Charlie sat next to her, watching the colorful lights on the streets.

As long as Charlie was around, it seemed like all of Emily's worries could be resolved.

When they reached Emily's apartment, she asked worriedly, "Your parents won't be mad at you for coming home late, right?"

Charlie laughed, "Am I a kid that I'd get punished for coming home late? Just go inside and call me if you need anything. Don't cry alone anymore."

Emily felt a bit embarrassed, not daring to investigate the strange feelings in her heart – whether it was gratitude or something else. She just smiled and looked at him, "Charlie..."

She wanted to say thank you, but saying it too much would seem strange.

"I know what you want to say!" Charlie laughed, "Go on, head inside!"

"Okay!" Emily nodded, got out of the car, waved goodbye, and said, "Be careful on the road, and Happy Thanksgiving!"

"Happy Thanksgiving!" the man smiled.

Emily stood there, watching the car start and the window slowly rise, covering the man's face. She didn't turn to go inside until the car was out of sight.

Their backgrounds and experiences are vastly different, totally from two different worlds. Yet, they seem to be very close, close enough that Emily feels she can share everything with Charlie.

It's both a contradictory and comforting feeling.
