Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 52

Simone forcefully removed the necklace from her neck and flung it onto the coffee table, her teeth clenched tightly. "She claimed to have bought this necklace and said she knows Harriet from GK Jewelry studio. But today, in front of everyone, it was revealed as a lie! I have been utterly humiliated because of her!"

Bennett frowned at the diamond necklace on the table, "Wasn't this a gift from Carmella on your birthday?"

Simone pointed at Carmella, "You ask her!"

Carmella sobbed uncontrollably, her voice choked with emotion as she wiped her tear-streaked face. With blurry eyes, she looked at Simone and pleaded, "I'm so sorry, Mom, I'm so sorry!"

Bennett frowned, "What's going on?"

Carmella choked, "The necklace was... was from Estelle!"

Bennett and Simone were both stunned, "Estelle?"

No wonder Harriet said the person who ordered the necklace had the same last name - it was Estelle!

Bennett's expression darkened as he confronted Carmella. "Carmella, this is where you went wrong. If the necklace was given by your sister, why did you claim it was from you?"

Carmella was crying so hard she couldn't catch her breath, "I wasn't being vain or trying to deceive you. I was just scared! I was afraid that if Mom saw the beautiful necklace from my sister, she wouldn't like my gift. I was even more afraid that you wouldn't love me or want me anymore!"

"Dad, Mom, I'm really so scared of losing you!"

She squatted down, crying her heart out as if she had been suppressing and holding back her feelings for a long time, and finally let it all out today.

Despite Simone's lingering anger over Carmella's lies, a sudden realization struck her. She understood that Carmella had been living with a sense of insecurity and caution ever since Estelle's return and acceptance into their lives. The anger within Simone dissipated, making room for heartache and compassion.

Simone approached Carmella and enveloped her in a tender hug, whispering softly, "You silly girl, how could I not love you? Estelle is our daughter, and so are you!"

Carmella clung to Simone tightly, her tears flowing uncontrollably. "Mom, I'm truly sorry! I lied and brought you embarrassment. When I become successful in the future, I promise to buy you the most exquisite necklace as a token of my love and gratitude."
