Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 87

Estelle pushed the door open, and the study was huge. Right in front of her was a large floor-to-ceiling window, through which she could see the lawn in the yard. Jonathan's desk was next to the window, and opposite it was a whole row of towering red wooden bookshelves.

At this moment, Jonathan was sitting behind his desk reading some documents. He turned his head and saw Estelle, his eyes looking a bit surprised, as if he didn't expect her to come and find him.

He was wearing the same black shirt as when they left the house together in the morning. The collar was undone by two buttons, giving off a cold and lazy vibe.

"Mr. Lamont." Estelle closed the door, stepped forward, and put the test paper on the table, "This is Henson's monthly quiz. Please have a look."

Jonathan picked it up, looked at both sides, and nodded, "Not bad. He's doing well, and you're teaching well too."

"Thank you for your compliment." Estelle smiled lightly and handed him the watch box, "This is for you from Henson."

"What is it?" Jonathan took it and casually opened the box.

The moment the wooden box was opened, Estelle saw a black thing jump out and pounce towards Jonathan's face. With its bloodied fangs and weird cries, it was even scarier than the monsters she had seen in the horror movie the night before.

Her eyes widened, and without thinking, she rushed over to try and grab it.

Jonathan was also startled and tried to throw the box away, but he noticed black smoke coming out of the monster's mouth. His face slightly changed, and he threw the box away while pulling Estelle into his arms.

Estelle was resting on his chest, her heart pounding. She turned to look at the box, and saw the black-faced monster still laughing. The black smoke, however, had dissipated.

There were three seconds of silence in the room, with only the laughter of the black-faced monster.

Now the laughter seemed less scary, but some comical and ridiculous.

Estelle was still lying in the man's arms, their heartbeats merging and rhythm disrupted. It’s hard to tell whose heartbeat was faster.

The laughter from the box finally stopped. Estelle was about to get up, but Jonathan suddenly pinched her chin.

"I'm starting to suspect that you're holding a grudge against me and that's why you're messing with me like this all the time."

Estelle raised her head with her eyes innocent, "Would you believe me if I said I was tricked by Henson?"

Their eyes met, just inches apart. Jonathan's dark eyes and the slight smile on his lips, "Not on purpose?"

"Of course not!" Estelle exclaimed, then muttered quietly, "Why would I want to harm myself?"

Jonathan stared into her eyes, leaned closer, and whispered, "So you don't have any problems with me?"

Estelle's face grew hot, and she looked down, "No."

"Since it's all for fun, we should communicate any issues immediately, right?" He said in a deep, lazy voice, with a hint of a smile.

"Really, there's nothing!" Estelle emphasized. She looked up and met his smiling eyes and realized what she said. Her face turned beet red, and her fingertips tingled.

"I'll come over tonight." He whispered, pinched her chin, and leaned down for a kiss.

His kiss was light, barely touching her lips. Like a patient fisherman, he kept using bait to entice Estelle to open her mouth before capturing the little pink fish.

Estelle closed her eyes and basked in the indescribable comfort and joy.

Even if this wasn't an intimate moment between lovers, it still felt wonderful.

So, whenever she kissed him, Estelle would always have a delusion of being deeply loved by him. It took her a long time to come back to reality from this delusion.

After the deep kiss, she rested on his shoulder, breathing softly. The sunlight came through the bright window and fell on her face, making her look dazed and unwilling to get up, thinking that the embrace truly belonged to her.
