From Sneers to Cheers: Anthea’s Ascent (Anthea ) novel Chapter 401

Tanya was laid up in bed with an illness, presenting the perfect opportunity for them to make her feel part of the family.

"Now?" Both Karan Jones and Gage Jones were taken aback.

They had never imagined that Bader Davis and Malloy Davis cared so much about Tanya.

"Alright, let's do it now then," Karan nodded.

Without wasting any time, they immediately headed to the hospital.

Tanya was on the sixth floor, in the oncology ward.

Just as they reached the door to her room, Bader stopped in her tracks, grabbing Malloy's hand, "Hold up! Wait a minute!"

"What's up, Blythe?" Karan, about to push the door open, turned around, puzzled.

Bader looked up at the sign on the door, "Oncology? Tell me straight, what sickness has our niece got?"

Cancer had taken a relative of Bader's.

If she remembered correctly, when she visited the hospital back then, it was the oncology ward she went to.

Karan let out a sigh, remaining silent.

Gage, with tears welling up in his eyes, said, "Lung cancer, advanced stage."

"What?" Bader's eyes widened as she stared at Karan and Gage. "So that's why you suddenly dragged us to the hospital! You thought you could shamelessly use us to foot the bill for your daughter's treatment? What were you thinking?"

As if Bader would be bullied into paying for a lost cause.

"Blythe! What are you even saying!" Karan looked at Bader, incredulous. "Even though our Tanya Jones has cancer, we never once thought of asking you for a dime!"

Bader scoffed, "Nice try. If you didn't want our money, why drag us here? Don't think I don't see through your little scheme!"

Gage, struggling to contain his anger, said, "Tanya is your flesh and blood, for heaven's sake! Do you even hear yourselves?"

Bader wasn't born yesterday.

With Tanya being sick, she saw no more use in her, so of course, she wanted to distance herself immediately.

"We don’t have such flesh and blood! Now that she bears the name Jones, she's your responsibility! She has nothing to do with us. Don't even think about dragging us into this mess. Let's go, Malloy. We're heading home!"
