After he left, my assistant said, "That man is Darren, the chairman of the Marks family. He's nothing but a suck-up. He's literally got no friends in the whole industry."
Even so, Benjamin still chose to cooperate with him.
He must have been forced into a desperate situation.
"Why are you standing out there?"
A cold voice sounded in the private room. After hesitating for a while, I opened the door and went in. The room was filled with dark purple light, and all of it fell on the decadent face of Benjamin. There was a pile of empty wine bottles in front of him. I came closer to sit down and asked, "Are you drunk?"
The outline of Benjamin was very sharp. He squinted at me for a long time and asked in a light tone, "Haven't you returned to City B yet?"
"I'm working my business here. I need to get some work done."
I lied nervously. Benjamin raised his eyebrows, picked up a glass of wine, and drank it. He said frivolously, "Did you not leave because of me?"
I pursed my lips and looked at the man in an orthodox black suit and a cream-white shirt. There was a golden button on his sleeve, which made him look a lot colder.
"You're overthinking things," I said softly.
Benjamin kept silent for a while, then stood up and left the room in a slightly messy way. I followed him worriedly.
Benjamin took out his wallet on the side of the road, with only ten dollars and a few cards in it.
He looked at me from the corner of his eyes and asked in a sarcastic tone, "Could you lend me 20 bucks for a ride for the sake of us being husband and wife?"
I pursed my lips and said, "I can take you home."
Hearing this, Benjamin squinted and asked, "And then?"
I was stunned for a brief moment before I asked, "And then?"
Benjamin raised his eyebrows and asked, "What do you think should happen between a man and a woman in the middle of the night?"
All of a sudden, the scene of him and I making love filled my mind. His strong waist and perfect muscles, and his intoxicating physique. And the way he would squeeze me with his slender, long legs.
I suppressed the agitation in my heart, took out a hundred-dollar note from my wallet, and handed it to him. Benjamin reached out with two long fingers and took it away from me.
Shaking it, I couldn't help but say, "My car is over there. I can take you home."
In fact, I wanted to know where he lived now. In addition, I knew that he might seem fine and sober now, but as soon as he got out of people's sight, he would vomit the s*it out of himself.
"Why would I let you do that?"
Benjamin snorted coldly and stopped a taxi, but I had no reason to catch up with him.
Looking at the direction in which he disappeared, I turned to my assistant and said, "Give me Darren's profile, and let the Group contact him."
No matter how much I hated Benjamin, I didn't want others to bully him like this. I wouldn't let anyone do to him what he wouldn't let others do to me.
I felt very tired when I stood downstairs at Elysia. I looked up at the towering building. Lights were still on in some apartments, whereas one room in the middle was pitch black.
The entire floor belonged to Benjamin. There was no sign of life on it. I went into the building, took the elevator, and went home.
When I lowered my head to put in the password, someone suddenly grabbed me by the waist. I didn't have the slightest fear because the familiar cold breath was his.
His breath fell along my cheeks into my ears, and my body went soft. He locked my waist with his big palms and held me into his arms, holding me tightly to him.
"Benjamin, don't do this," I said in a pleading tone, with a burning face.
"Em, I'm not feeling well," said Benjamin, panting heavily. He then said, "Give it to me."
If it had been in the past, Benjamin would have been able to restrain himself, but tonight, after drinking wine, he was a beast set free.
I whispered softly, "Calm down, let's go back to the bedroom, okay?"
I wanted to indulge myself like this.
