Gorgeous Couple’s Sweet Love novel Chapter 29

Bob drove the car to the bar, opened the door, and got out of the car. Standing at the door, he stretched out his hand to pull me out of the car. With a palm hooked to my shoulder, he said to the man in the car with a hippy smile: "Uncle, excuse us."

Zack was silent all the way, which gave me a chill running down my spine, so when he raised his indifferent face, I lowered my head subconsciously. But I suddenly looked up at him as if thinking of something!

Black suit, white shirt, slightly loose neckline, messy black hair, and... unworldly handsome!

Wasn't this the man I met this afternoon?

He was Zack Glover, the deputy commissioner of the police station?

He glanced at Bob coldly, then turned around and opened the car door, got out of the car and got into the driver's seat.

I looked at the disappearing car, stretched out my elbow and poked Bob, and asked anxiously: "Why does Zack feel so cold? And he won't go in with us for the party?"

Bob stretched out his hand and scratched his head, explaining helplessly: "He's always like this. He's never had any social activities anywhere."

"All the newly appointed leaders tend to have some earth- shattering changes in the departments. Do you think he's gonna distrub our peaceful life at internal departments?"

Bob loosened his grip on me and went straight to the door of the bar: "Relax. Apart from being bad at dealing with people, Zack is very upright in all three aspects. As long as you don't touch his bottom line, there will be nothing wrong.

I chased him up: "Our work has no interaction anyway."

"That's right, but one day both of us will be transferred back to the crime squad. In addition to being the deputy commissioner, he is also the leader of the crime squad."

I was surprised: "What about Riley?"

"Deputy team leader." Bob tilted his head and smiled and said, "Emma, Zack's gonna come to you sooner or later!"

I wonder: "Why?"

Bob smiled mysteriously: "God knows."

When I just entered the bar, September saw us immediately. She waved her hand and shouted, "Emma, here."

The bar was very noisy. Although September's voice was loud, it caught no one's attention. Bob looked at the crowd and laughed, "What did you guys think this is, a brunch? You've only drunk two bottles for this long?"

Riley smiled and said, "We were waiting for you and Emma. I remember that Emma can drink quite a lot, so let's get wasted tonight!"

I shook my head and sat down to explain, "Riley, I have a physical problem recently. I'll drink with you next time."

"The disappointing Emma!" Bob murmured, holding up the wine glass and drinking it all at once: "Riley, let's drink all we want, Emma will be responsible for driving us home!"

September handed me a glass of juice, and then she played dice with a group of people in the police station. Bob lost every single round.

The officers happily handed him wine.

He never refused any of the wine handed to him.

September took me to dance on the dance floor after she was drunk. I looked around awkwardly. The lights on the dance floor were shining, and the people around me were immersed in my own world.

I gently followed her steps to swing.

After dancing for two minutes, I felt hot and pulled September back to the table. As soon as I drank a sip of juice, I heard a familiar voice: "You guys didn't invite me? I'm so sad."

Hearing the frivolous voice, I frowned and looked towards the direction of the voice, "It seems that I can see you in places of fun everytime."

Such as yesterday and today.

"Guess we are just meant to be!" Sean smiled, shook the wine glass in his hand and lowered his head to me, mysteriously saying: "I got someone you know at my table, wanna go over?"

Someone I knew?

It could only be Benjamin.

He came back from City B.

But he didn't contact me immediately.

I shook my head and said, "Thanks, I'll pass."

"Can I stay here then?"

I chose to remain silent and did not respond.

Sean glared at me and then sat beside September all the same, his palm touched her thigh, the latter gave him a cold look, and stretched out her hand to break his hand away!

Sean's face changed: "Woman, be gentle!"

September let go of him, and said with a smile: "I'll give you two choices, either leave your hands here or roll away numbly."

Sean shamelessly said: "Tsk tsk, you really are cruel, huh?"

Having said that, Sean still got up and left. After he left, Bob asked curiously: "Is he your friend?"

I thought about it and said, "Sort of."

Benjamin's brothers were more or less friends.

Bob glanced in the direction Sean was leaving and said lightly: "I met him in City B. He went to the police station to bail someone out."

Sean also bailed Benjamin out once, so I was not surprised, but Bob's next sentence was: "I was in charge of the case in the past few months, and the bail was a woman named Heaney."

Victoria Heaney was the first name that came to my mind.

I asked: "What did she dod?"

Bob explained: "Nothing serious. Just a simple Dili. The man that was hit went into a coma but was okay."

I nodded, maybe it was not Victoria, after all, there were so many Heaneys so it might just be a stupid coincidence.

But when it came to the party, it might seem like a party held in my name.
