I smiled faintly and said, "Back then, you conspired with the Heaney family to plot against me, Teresa was jealous, but you... are you afraid that I knew something?"

I smiled and said, "What do you think?"

Despite being nervous as hell, I had to remain my composure.

Janse asked impatiently, "What's the deal?"

I looked at him and said calmly, "Janse, the Heaney family has played the Solange family in the palm of their hand. Do you think your whole family is worth more than a pawn to them? What are you even expecting? To trade your whole family in for her love?"

I was just trying to piss him off. He might beat me, but I was sure that I wouldn't have to worry about my own safety with Benjamin out there.
