Heartstrings on Fire novel Chapter 1047

Agnes knew the situation very well.

Having Jared as her assistant was merely his strategy to stay close and make his move first. Now that he had succeeded, she was certain he wouldn't continue as her assistant.

Jared pretended to ponder, "Well, you've got me there. Truth be told, playing your assistant isn't the worst gig."

Agnes quickly interjected, "Hold your horses, Mr. Jared. Please, look for greener pastures. Being together day and night will get old fast."

"But you don't have to worry about me getting tired," Jared countered.

Agnes was speechless.

Regaining her composure, Agnes asked, "So, you're really not considering going back to the Tim Group?"

"Why should I? If someone's willing to take over, I couldn't be happier," Jared replied, showing no interest in returning.

The conversation ended there.

After a moment of thought, Jared said, "But I do need to find something to keep busy. How about this? I'll stick to the original plan and open up a little diner. I'll go check out some locations today."

Agnes was taken aback that Jared was serious about opening a diner, remembering how Reggie, his father, had a passion for running a noodle shop. She hadn't expected this trait to have been passed down to Jared.

Thinking of Reggie always left a bittersweet taste in Agnes's heart.

Wrapping her arms around Jared's neck, Agnes said, "Honey, whatever you decide to do, you have my full support."

Feeling warmed by her words, Jared responded, "In that case, I'm currently into doing some morning exercises that are good for both body and soul. I could really use my wife's support."

His words were laced with innuendo, his breath hot against Agnes's ear.

Blushing, Agnes protested, "Look at the time!"

She knew better than to agree. Given Jared's stamina, they wouldn't get out of bed until noon.
