Heartstrings on Fire novel Chapter 1080

Alyssa's figure seemed to pause slightly.

She glanced at Cilian but did not answer his question.

Instead, Alyssa walked towards the door, leaving Cilian's face darkening with displeasure.

Ever since this man appeared, Alyssa seemed to forget the world around her, her gaze fixated solely on him.

As Alyssa approached Michael, every step felt like walking on clouds—soft and uncertain, as if one misstep could send her crashing down.

Her heart pounded like a drum in her chest, a sensation of nervousness she hadn't felt in what seemed like a lifetime. She had thought her heart had gone cold, incapable of feeling. But now, everything felt as if it was happening all over again.

Even Alyssa acknowledged that reaching out to Michael had been a mistake. In his presence, she felt small, unable to lift her head.

But still, she moved closer, finally standing before Michael.

She managed a restrained smile, "Mr. Albert, it's been a while."

Michael looked at Alyssa, then remarked, "The Whitfield Manor is quite the scene today. You didn't mention we'd have such a crowd."

His gaze swept around, finally landing on Cilian. Michael and Cilian had never crossed paths before, yet Cilian's business dealings were global, often clashing with Michael's interests.
