Heartstrings on Fire novel Chapter 1213

Agnes was taken aback.

She had only just started considering the idea of leaving the network.

How did Ben seem to know already?

Seeing the surprise on Agnes's face, Ben remarked, “Your personality doesn’t quite fit with the complex politics of a television network. Plus, the boss is more concerned with profits. I figured you'd get tired of it soon enough.”

Agnes sighed. “I'm just a bit indecisive, unsure if I should just walk away.”

“You know, everyone says it takes courage to pursue what you want, but I think deciding what you don’t want and stepping away takes even more bravery. Time is our most precious asset. If you feel you’re wasting yours, maybe it's time to let go.”

Agnes chuckled. “It’s funny because I’m the one who dragged you into this. I feel bad.”

Ben brushed it off. “No worries, I chose to come. Don’t worry about me. But Agnes, maybe you should think about what you truly want to do.”

That struck a chord with Agnes.

Back home, she pondered over that question.

What did she truly want to do?

She never doubted her love for journalism.

Her passion for uncovering the truth.

That’s what led her to study journalism and pursue it as a career.

But beyond that, Agnes hadn’t considered other possibilities.

Yet, she found herself feeling weary.

Perhaps it was the truths buried under layers of deception.

The powerlessness often lurking behind those truths.

The constant danger and feeling of being on the back foot.

Agnes stood by the window, deep in thought, until Jared came in unnoticed.
