Heartstrings on Fire novel Chapter 452

Valeria was the woman Alyssa had always wanted to set up with Jared.

She seemed to have a pretty good grasp on their current situation and was certain they will eventually divorce.

However, Agnes wasn't exactly clued in on where Valeria stood with Jared.

Agnes said, "I'm just popping in, if he's not here I'll leave right away."

"As his wife, Ms. Pritchard, you don't know where he is?"

Agnes simply smiled and said, "You know my father's been sick, I've been spending my time at the hospital with him, not really in the mood to worry about anything else."

Agnes didn't say much else, nor did she want to spill the beans about her current situation with Jared.

She was clearly uncomfortable, as Valeria was obviously digging.

Valeria said, "I see, we had lunch planned today but he didn't show, Jared is usually a man of his word, it got me a bit concerned."

"He probably had more pressing matters to attend to." Agnes shrugged it off.

Agnes chuckled and said, "I have some things to deal with, I'll be heading out."

"Ms. Pritchard," Valeria stopped her. "My father went to a meeting at the hotel in the next block today, but he went alone, no secretary in tow."

Valeria moved closer to Agnes, "Maybe you should check on your stepmother's whereabouts, you might be in for a surprise." She continued, smiling at Agnes, "Opportunities like these are hard to come by, good luck."

With that, she left.

Agnes stood there, her brow furrowed.

It was clear what Valeria was hinting at, she was suggesting Agnes catch her stepmother in the act of cheating.

Valeria's father, Berlin, wasn't a local of Willowbrook Town, he just came here on business trips occasionally.

So, besides that one time at the golf course, Agnes didn't have any concrete evidence.

Without proof, it was hard for Agnes to go up against Laura.

Agnes discovered that Laura had mortgaged the Pritchard Mansion to an underground auction house and the auction had already begun. In a week, the auction would start.
