Suddenly, the air became unusually quiet.
Agnes was gasping for breath.
But Agnes noticed Jared seemed to be holding his own.
His eyes were filled with turmoil, like storm clouds brewing.
He stared blankly at Agnes for a few seconds.
Then, like he'd just been pricked by a needle, he suddenly jumped up.
He stepped back two steps, then walked back over to Agnes, still in disbelief, he asked, "What did you say?"
Agnes didn’t utter a word.
She got up and put on her clothes.
Having straightened her clothes, she said nonchalantly, "I tricked you, just trying to calm you down."
Agnes' voice was incredibly cold.
Jared's face turned incredibly sour.
His fingers slowly clenching, veins popping.
How could she joke like this?
Didn't she know how cruel this was for her?
He had never wanted so desperately in his life, wishing for a child between them, hoping for an angel to mend their relationship.
Because he felt powerless.
He had been disappointed once,
The feeling of hope being crushed was truly painful.
And when he had just heard from Agnes that she was pregnant,
He couldn't believe it, but was soon overwhelmed with euphoria!
Jared felt like he'd been trapped in a dark cage for a while, and in that moment, it seemed like the sun had shone in.
He was on the brink of tears, his body started shaking uncontrollably, like he'd been electrocuted.
Only a few seconds later, Agnes said she was fooling him!
Jared felt like he'd been kicked from heaven to hell in an instant.
