Albert was speaking in a very matter-of-fact tone.
But Agnes was all hyped up just listening to that brief intro.
Those guys were really extraordinary people.
Just like the character she used to read about in her novels.
Sure, they weren't the good guys, but each had their own charm and were damn powerful.
Albert let out a sigh, "Agnes, you might not believe this but you look like a friend I had when I was younger. I didn't treat her well. Seeing you, I feel like I want to make up for past mistakes. Fate works in mysterious ways, eh?"
Agnes forced a smile, "I guess I'm lucky then. You saved my skin multiple times, twice saving my life. I really owe you."
"Dumb kid." Albert reached out and ruffled Agnes' hair, "I've heard about what you're going through. What's your plan now?"
Agnes has been making headlines lately.
So it didn't surprise her that Albert knew about her identity and what she's been dealing with.
Agnes' mind was still in chaos.
Distracted by Albert's peculiar identity and the unique people around him, she momentarily forgot about her own predicament.
After some pondering, Agnes suddenly blurted out, "Albert, take me with you."
She didn't even know why she said that.
But really, what's there left for her in this city?
She has to get out.
But she had no clue where to go.
All she wanted now was to find a secluded place and safely give birth to her baby.
She didn't want to think about anything.
This place was full of deceit and hypocrisy.
Today it was Beatrice, who knows who it'd be tomorrow!
Agnes didn't know why she was turning to Albert for help.
