Heartstrings on Fire novel Chapter 792

The interview wrapped up pretty quickly.

Agnes said, “It was a pleasure interviewing you today, Miss Sharon. I hope we'll have the opportunity to collaborate again in the future. I'll make sure to treat you to a meal next time.”

Sharon, devoid of any airs, responded amicably, “Actually, I should be the one treating you next time. We'll definitely make it happen.”

Accompanied by her agent, Sharon left the interview room to attend a gala. As the Best Actress, the spotlight was naturally hers tonight.

Agnes began packing up her things when Yolanda approached her, her tone dripping with an undertone of malice. “You didn’t stick to the original script, Agnes. You improvised and changed the interview content. Maybe you should take over my job as the director.”

“You should know that your interview script was extremely subpar. Asking those questions would not only have tarnished the reputation of our station but would also have stirred up public outrage. I doubt that's the sort of outcome our boss would want.”

“You can't threaten me with the boss. He’s my father-in-law. He approved my interview script. Sharon's reputation in the entertainment industry isn't exactly stellar. The public is more interested in that sort of juicy gossip. Who doesn’t know that her win had some help? Who genuinely cares about her movies or work? Gossip and scandals attract more traffic!”

Agnes retorted, “Journalists should maintain a certain level of professionalism. We aren’t paparazzi. Private scandals aren’t what we should be focusing on. If the boss wants to punish me for changing the script, then so be it.”

Agnes turned on her heel and walked away.

Yolanda suddenly called out to her retreating figure, “Agnes, don’t you think I was trying to help you? You’re well aware of Sharon and Jared's relationship. Now that she won the award, her position is more secure than ever. Shouldn’t that be a good thing for you to expose her clandestine affair with Jared, revealing her true colors to the world?”

Yolanda approached Agnes, probing, “I suppose you and Jared have rekindled your romance. Even so, don't forget that you're no longer the old Mrs. Whitfield. There are other women in Jared’s life now. My actions could help destroy your enemy. Why wouldn’t you accept this favor?”

Agnes turned around, “If our paths don’t cross, then we shouldn’t work together. Our professional ideologies are too different for us to have anything to discuss. I've just returned to the country and don't wish to make enemies. But if you keep crossing boundaries, I won't sit back and do nothing. I can let the press pass issue slide, but if it happens again, I'll ensure everyone at the station knows about your conduct. You're a Bowman heiress, one of the four socialites. Don’t resort to such underhanded tactics; they're beneath you.”

With that, Agnes walked away.

Yolanda watched her retreating figure, fuming.

Playing the innocent here? She must be seething inside.

Yolanda’s plan had failed, leaving her burning with anger.

Who was to blame for Agnes’ current state?

Yolanda was once an esteemed professional, a respected figure in the media. But ever since Agnes returned, everything had changed.

She was determined to find a way to kick Agnes out of the station.
