Evadne's eyes bugged out as she shoved Thaddeus away and quickly backed up, slamming into the fridge door.
Her breath came in short gasps, her cheeks flushed, and sweat beads formed on her forehead.
Despite her mask, she could still feel his heat, making her blush even more. The sensation lingered on her lips.
That was totally out of line!
Evadne was breathless and flushed, she angrily ripped off her mask and threw it on the floor.
The mask was a goner, totally ruined!
Thaddeus slowly got up and leaned against the countertop. His eyes looked a bit worn out, like a beast that just had its fill. His lips were slightly pursed.
Although he tried to keep his cool, he couldn't ignore the pounding of his heart.
"Does your back hurt?" Thaddeus asked.
His gaze was a bit unfocused, seemingly still lost in the recent kiss, but he maintained his aloof demeanor.
"None of your business!"
Evadne noticed that Thaddeus had eaten all the snacks she made, clenching her teeth in anger, "Thaddeus, who gave you the right to eat whatever you want? I didn't make these to please you!"
"I haven't tasted your snacks in a while. I craved for your cooking. I remember you used to make snacks for me all the time."
Thaddeus wasn't usually a big eater. He could even go without food when he's busy.
But seeing Evadne put so much effort into making snacks, he got antsy and felt like he couldn't wait, so he grabbed and ate them.
He didn't think too much. He even worried about missing this chance, thinking he might not get another one.
"It's gone!" Evadne scoffed, "Back then you were my husband, it was my duty as a wife to cook for you. But what gives you the right to eat my snacks now? I'd rather throw them to the dogs than feed you, you're not worth it!"
Thaddeus’s heart clenched, and his gaze darkened.
He tried hard to look into Evadne's eyes, but he could no longer find the woman who used to lock herself in the kitchen all day to make him snacks.
So, could love really disappear? Was there really nothing left?
Evadne no longer paid attention to the stiff Thaddeus. She walked over with a stern face, carefully put the remaining three snacks on a plate, and then closed the cabinet door.
To prevent him from stealing.
"I was out of line just now. I didn't realize the snack was that important to you, sorry." Thaddeus apologized in a low voice. He knew he was in the wrong, so he accepted whatever she said.
Evadne's long eyelashes quivered slightly, and then she turned her back to wash her hands in the sink, coldly asking, "Did you come to me for business? Just spit it out, as you can see, I have a lot of stuff to deal with, you being here will only slow me down."
Thaddeus's throat tightened, he fell silent for a moment, "I came to tell you that from now on, I'm no longer in charge of Ada's wedding planning."
Evadne was washing her hands under the running water, hearing this, she let out a laugh, "Isn't that normal? Ada has officially signed a contract with our K World Hotel. All you can be in charge of now is handling the negative publicity of Abernathy Hotel."
Ignoring her mockery, Thaddeus continued, "Now Frederic has handed it over entirely to Glynnis."
Evadne finally turned to face him, her eyebrows slightly furrowed.
"You're smart, you should know that this matter isn't that simple." Thaddeus's voice was low, his gaze full of worry.
"So did you specifically come to tell me this? Typical Mr. Thaddeus, you are always so selfish."
Evadne mocked with a curl of her red lips, one hand on her hip, "You're just sore because you lost, so you came to tell me, hoping I'll deal with Glynnis, trying to use me for your revenge? Even if Glynnis wants to frame me, she's not as smart as me. Why would I be afraid of her?"
After Evadne said this, Thaddeus's tense jawline relaxed a bit, his thin lips curling up into a gentle smile.
He found that as long as she wasn't scolding him, she was quite entertaining when she was scolding others.
"Even so, Glynnis isn't a fool, let alone she has Elspeth behind her. Whatever Glynnis can't think of, Elspeth will plot for her. Elspeth is devious and unpredictable, I'm afraid they might harm you, so I came to tell you, hoping you can be prepared."
Evadne's pupils constricted. She turned her back again.
