Glynnis' words were like a magnet, drawing everyone in the vicinity towards her. The information she was laying out was explosive!
First, she stressed that the fault was entirely on K Orld Hotel's side and that Ada had been wronged in the incident.
Second, she pointed out that Evadne, the hotel's manager, had yet to clean up the mess in her own establishment and was in a rush to host large events, even though the contract termination issue had not been resolved.
Third, she highlighted the severe negligence on Evadne's part as the general manager; K Orld Hotel had failed to meet clients' needs, there were lapses in their confidentiality measures, and their security was flawed.
And now, Ada had chosen to work with the Abernathy Group, indirectly affirming that the Abernathy Hotel was superior in all aspects compared to K Orld Hotel, right?
The reporters were buzzing, firing sharp questions one after another at Evadne who was in the spotlight.
She knew this day was bound to come.
Glynnis was just stirring the pot, using public opinion to strike at her and the hotel.
She looked at the mother-daughter duo, their smug expressions barely hidden behind their meticulous makeup.
What a pair of jesters, absurdly amusing!
Just then, Ada and Iris, two leading ladies from the fashion and entertainment industries, strolled into the venue.
They arrived just in time to witness Evadne being ridiculed by Glynnis and bombarded by the reporters.
Behind her sunglasses, Iris, who was as cool as a cucumber, looked at the unfazed Evadne and nudged Ada, "I think you shouldn't have given up on your partnership with Ms. Evadne."
"Why?" Ada asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Because her brother Cassius is a remarkable man. I kid you not, Mr. Cassius is the most handsome man I've ever met," Iris said, her eyes sparkling behind her sunglasses at the mention of Cassius, "He's the man of my dreams."
"What does your dream man have to do with me not partnering with Evadne?" Ada asked, looking confused.
With a serious tone and a soft voice, Iris said, "For the sake of me, your hypothetical sister-in-law, could you possibly give Ms. Evadne another chance?"
Ada was speechless. Was this what they call emotional coercion?
Meanwhile, unnoticed on the second floor.
Thaddeus was standing tall by the railing. His dark gaze was focused on the scene unfolding below, finally resting on Evadne's calm and composed face. A faint smile played at the corner of his lips.
He knew that she wouldn't be so easily defeated.
Ms. Ashbourne thrived in the face of adversity.
"Mr. Thaddeus, Mrs. Abernathy is being attacked. Those reporters will surely write biased articles about her!" Gordon said anxiously, looking at the scene below, "Shouldn't we think of a way to help her?"
"No."
Thaddeus' expression turned stern, "Even if Evadne is being framed, I can't step in. I'm part of the Abernathy Group, if I interfere, it will only make things messier. I trust she has a plan, I can't disrupt it."
Understanding dawned on Gordon. After all, Mrs. Abernathy wasn't one to play by the rules. It was best not to disrupt her rhythm.
Moreover, Thaddeus' reputation in front of Evadne was in ruins, and her regard for him was at an all-time low. If he stepped in now, he would only earn her disdain.
"Gordon, there are two things I need you to do," Thaddeus said, his low voice commanding attention.
