His Ex-Wife Is A Billionaire? novel Chapter 255

"Whoa, you're not Jason, let me go."

This was a new experience for Nydia, being held by a man in such a way. She blushed and struggled in Cedric's arms.

Her legs felt weak but she managed to place her hands against his chest, trying to push him away.

"Oh? Only my little brother gets to hold you? Do you have a crush on him?" Cedric's dark eyes traced the contours of Nydia's lovely face.

The flush creeping up, her forehead glistening with a slight sheen of sweat, the enticing blush of her cheeks, all combined to present an image of innocence and allure that made him want to tease her.

Emeric's family was known for their exceptional genes. Each of his wives had their own unique beauty. But the one who stood out the most was Myra.

And Nydia had inherited her mother's stunning beauty, her skin glowing with youthful vitality.

Cedric was a normal man. His heart fluttered at the sight of a beautiful woman.

"No, that's not it." Nydia's face turned even redder.

"Then let me take you back to rest." His hand around her slender waist didn't loosen its grip.

"No, Mr. Cedric. I can manage on my own."

"You can barely stand. Don't push yourself."

Cedric leaned in closer, his face near hers, close enough to kiss. If it weren't for Nydia's hands on his chest, their bodies would have been pressed together.

"When we were kids, it wasn't just Jason who saw you. You don't need to be so formal with me. Just call me Cedric."

"Miss Nydia!"

A worried shout snapped Nydia back to reality.

If Jason hadn't arrived when he did, Cedric might have taken advantage of the situation. He was so close to stealing a kiss!

His little brother was always ruining things!

Cedric quickly composed his face into a mask of innocence and helped Nydia steady herself. His cold gaze settled on Jason.

"Miss Nydia, why are you with my brother?" Jason's voice wavered, his eyes filled with concern.

He had seen Nydia in Cedric's arms, their bodies pressed against each other. From his angle, it looked like Cedric was about to kiss her and she wasn't resisting.

He felt a lump in his throat, as if it was stuffed with cotton.

Nydia's heart fluttered. She rubbed her eyes.

"Miss Nydia, answer me!" Jason was frantic, quickly stepping forward.

Cedric's gaze darkened as he stepped in front of a pale-faced Nydia, "Miss Nydia got drunk and nearly fell. I happened to be there and helped her. Is there a problem?"

"Did you really just want to help her?" Jason gritted his teeth.

Remembering Cedric's lustful gaze when he looked at Nydia, his heart clenched.

"What are you implying? You're making it sound like I'm a beast in gentleman's clothing."

Cedric laughed mockingly, as if deeply wronged, "I'm a lawyer. I know the law. This is Miss Nydia's home, and the Ashbourne family is here. What could I possibly do? Unlike you, you're already Chairman Emeric's godson, and Miss Evadne's favorite. You can do whatever you want. I'll take care of Miss Nydia, you go serve your young mistress."

Having said that, Cedric turned back and looked at Nydia with deep affection.

Jason was so angry he couldn't even call his brother. His eyes were bloodshot, his fingers clenched.

"Cedric."

Seeing the two brothers about to argue in front of her, Nydia could only weakly call Cedric, "I'm fine now, I've sobered up. Let's go to the front hall."

"Alright, I'll go with you."

Just as they were about to leave, Jason couldn't stand it anymore. His eyes red, he rushed over and grabbed Nydia's delicate wrist.

"Ah." Nydia felt as if her wrist was being crushed by his grip. She winced in pain.

"Miss Nydia, come with me."

Jason pulled her to his side, wrapping an arm around her shoulder, forcing her to follow him.

Nydia was upset. She always kept her head down in front of him, tears glistening in her eyes.

She didn't want to go with him, but she couldn't deceive her heart that wanted to be with him.

What should she do?

She still liked Jason so much.

Cedric didn't go after them. He wouldn't do anything that would damage his reputation for a woman.

Looking at the backs of Jason and Nydia, a perfect match, and remembering Jason's red eyes when he fought for her, Cedric suddenly realized something. A sinister smile played on his lips, "If you can be Chairman Emeric's godson, why can't I be President Ashbourne's son-in-law?"

Jason took Nydia back to her room and closed the door firmly behind them.

"Ugh, I feel really sick." Nydia fell back onto the couch, her chest rising and falling with her labored breaths.

She had sobered up a little, but the commotion had made her head spin again.

Jason had been holding back his anger, but seeing her discomfort, he felt it dissipate.

"Why did you drink so much? You know you can't handle alcohol."

Jason sighed and shook his head. He quickly poured a glass of water and handed it to her, "Miss Nydia, sit up and drink some water."

"I don't want to. I don't feel like drinking."

Nydia turned her body away, her voice filled with resentment, "Just go. I want to rest."

"But you can't sleep here. You'll catch a cold."

"I don't need your concern. Go take care of my sister!" Nydia curled up, shouting at him in a fit of pique.

Jason froze, a dull pain throbbing in his chest.

Then, he picked Nydia up and carried her to the bedroom without another word.

"Um. Jason, put me down!" Nydia's heart was thumping wildly.
