"Oh man, Acacia, you okay?" Elspeth was taken aback, yet couldn't help but chuckle a bit.
Seeing this, Thaddeus rushed over, bent down to pull Acacia up from the ground, but she wouldn't budge.
"Thad, I'm hurt all over, hold me." Acacia was crying out loud, her knees numb from the fall.
Evadne stood with her arms crossed, coldly watching this spectacle.
Acacia, the kind of woman who would play the damsel in distress whenever Thaddeus was around.
"Thad, Ms. Ilana pushed me!"
Acacia hid herself in the man's arms, shooting daggers at Evadne with her eyes.
"Acacia, what did you just say?" Thaddeus was taken aback.
"You sure I pushed you?" Evadne scoffed, watching her perform.
"You think I just tripped myself?" Acacia’s voice, usually soft and gentle, was raised in indignation.
"Well, it's not impossible. You look like you're on your last legs, maybe you were blown over by the wind."
"You're cursing me to die soon?!" Acacia’s face turned red with anger, "I clearly felt you push me when I was walking by. Are you denying it?!"
"Ms. Acacia, this is a society of laws, cameras are everywhere, you can't just talk nonsense."
Evadne's eyes darkened, her presence intimidating, "If I find evidence, I can sue you for defamation."
Thaddeus' pupils dilated, feeling as if Ilana had completely changed.
She was no longer the meek wife who lived alone in an empty house.
Acacia was clearly being oppressed by Evadne's powerful presence, she quickly turned to Elspeth for help.
"Oh dear, it's just a misunderstanding!"
Elspeth sneakily glanced at the camera above, "Acacia must've tripped and accidentally bumped into Ilana. So you thought she pushed you, it's all a misunderstanding!"
"Acacia, did you really just trip?" Thaddeus looked at the woman in his arms, his tone slightly cold.
"I thought she pushed me..."
The man's expression froze.
Acacia panicked, "If she hadn't stepped aside, I wouldn't have fallen! She did it on purpose! My bracelet is broken too, it was a family heirloom! If it wasn't for her, it wouldn't have broken!
Ms. Ilana, I know you're not happy about your divorce with Thad, but you shouldn't take it out on me. Is it my fault you two broke up?"
With that, Acacia started crying again.
What a woman, always ready to cry.
"Firstly, I'm not upset, on the contrary, I should thank you for helping me escape from misery, not having to wait up late at night for someone." Evadne proudly retorted.
Wait up late at night? Thaddeus' face stiffened.
"And secondly, if this bracelet is really a family heirloom, you should be thanking me."
Evadne walked over, picked up half of the bracelet, "This is fake."
"What?!" Acacia was shocked, even Elspeth was taken aback.
"This bracelet is made of fake crystals, wearing it for a long time is actually harmful to your body, the toxic substances can seep into your skin and affect your blood system."
Evadne tossed the broken bracelet into the trash, her diamond bracelet, a gift from Thaddeus' grandfather, seemed to mock Acacia.
"Mr. Thaddeus, since Ms. Acacia is going to be with you, you should at least buy her some decent jewelry."
"Ilana." Thaddeus frowned, showing his displeasure.
"I still have a crystal frog on my dressing table at his place, if you don't mind, you can take it and make a bracelet." Evadne brushed off her hands, as if touching the bracelet would dirty them.
Frog... frog?!
Ilana was clearly poking fun at her!
Acacia was furious, but Evadne was already far away.
Outside the hospital.
Evadne couldn't help but laugh as she thought about Acacia's shocked expression.
"Ilana."
Hearing Thaddeus' deep voice, she turned to look at him.
A breeze blew by, lifting her hair, adding a touch of beauty to her.
