His Ex-Wife Is A Billionaire? novel Chapter 868

Warner was scared out of his wits, hastily covering the girl's body with a quilt!

Huddling at the foot of the bed, shivering like a scared quail, he pondered whether to call the police when a knock on the door sounded!

4 a.m. in the morning, room service? Impossible!

Trembling, Warner approached the door, his voice quivering uncontrollably, "Who's there?!"

"Mr. Bright."

A calm, unwavering male voice came from the other side, "I'm here on Mr. Chambers' orders, to take care of your problem."

Warner still tried to bluff, "What problem could I possibly have?!"

"The lady you picked up last night, she's still in your room, isn't she? How’s she doing now?"

A chill went down Warner's spine, and he flung the door open.

Standing in the doorway was a man in a baseball cap and a black mask, clad in nondescript black sportswear. He was wrapped up tight, only his eyes visible, cold and sharp as a hawk's.

"How did you find out?!" Warner blanched in shock.

Without a word, the man took out a video on his phone, playing it in front of Warner. The video showed Warner's activities with the girl from the previous night, from his rough assault to injecting her with drugs, all captured clearly by a hidden camera in the room!

After having his way, Warner turned over and fell into a deep sleep.

And after he slept, the girl beside him suddenly started convulsing, foaming at the mouth, and eventually lay still, motionless.

Warner's face turned ashen, a chill running down his spine. He quickly pulled the man into the room and locked the door.

"Hidden cameras in the room?! Did you do this? Was it Avery?!"

Seizing the man's collar, Warner demanded answers, his voice barely a whisper from his last night’s exhaustion, beads of sweat on his forehead.

The man narrowed his eyes darkly, "Should I commend your intelligence, or is the answer too obvious?"

"Avery! That bastard! He dared to set me up!"

Enraged, Warner threw a punch at the man's face! But in the next second, the man easily caught Warner's wrist and threw him onto the couch with a judo move, leaving Warner seeing stars and in acute pain.

"Mr. Bright, now's not the time for futile rage."

The man dusted off his hands with a cold chuckle, "You should be thinking about what would happen if this video ends up in the hands of the police."

Warner's heart pounded unceasingly, his legs turning to jelly, "What do you want?!"

"Don't panic. I'm here to clean up your mess."

Saying so, the man walked into the bedroom, took a black nylon bag from his backpack, placed the girl's body inside, zipped it up, tied it securely, and then expertly erased all traces from the scene.

Warner watched, dumbfounded! This man handled the body with the ease and nonchalance of someone performing a mundane task.

"Who the hell are you?!" Warner asked, terror-stricken.

"I've taken care of it."

Ignoring Warner, the man dragged the body bag outside, saying in an unfazed tone, "By the way, Mr. Chambers sent me to relay a message.

He said, since you've boarded his ship, you should understand the principle of shared fates. From now on, should you spill any secrets, Mr. Chambers won't cover for your involuntary manslaughter tonight."

Warner watched the man leave, utterly petrified with fear.

Before dawn, a black sedan pulled up at the Velvet Haven.

As the man got out, two of Harvey's men came over and took the body from his trunk.

Back in the car, he removed his mask; Wayne's pale and somber face was revealed, marked by indescribable exhaustion and sorrow.

After who knew how long, he took out his phone and called Avery. As the other side picked it up, he said respectfully, "Mr. Chambers, I've taken care of the matter you assigned."
