His Ex-Wife Is A Billionaire? novel Chapter 956

Elsie was tightly gripped by Harvey as he desperately made their way to the back of the church.

But where could they possibly go?

The police had the church surrounded on all sides. Harvey was cornered, with no way out!

"Just stop struggling..."

Elsie, held close in his embrace, her face as pale as a sheet, lips turning a shade of blue from being choked for too long, gasped, "You... you’ve got nowhere to run. You and Avery... it’s all over!"

"Shut up!" Harvey roared, his eyes bloodshot, his body trembling uncontrollably.

But Elsie couldn't help but laugh, a mix of relief, joy, and satisfaction twinkling in her eyes.

Cornered, Harvey had no choice but to drag her up an old ten-story bell tower at the back of the church.

The tower was sealed off. Their only hope was a helicopter for a miraculous escape.

But when Harvey tried calling his contacts, it was as if they had all conspired against him, not a single one answered his calls.

"Damn! A bunch of ungrateful curs!" he exploded in rage.

"Ha... Did you really think you were still the untouchable executive assistant of the Chambers Group? Did you actually believe those rats from Helgen would still dance to your tune?” Elsie laughed brightly, her disdain and mockery undisguised, “Alliances made for profit end when the profit’s gone. Alliances made for power crumble when the power fades.

You and Avery... you’re nothing but stray dogs now, with nothing ahead but a dead end!”

"I did all this for us! Do you have any idea the lengths I’ve gone to be with you? For years, I’ve dreamed of making you my wife!"

Harvey tightened his grip on Elsie, nearly breaking, his mind on the brink of collapse, "Ellie... why can't you see my heart? Why curse me? Have I not been good to you?”

"These years, I’ve been trampled on, abused, used by Avery... sent to the beds of different men to further his greed.”

Elsie spoke with bitterness, her eyes closed in pain as the malicious laughter of those men echoed in her ears, the degrading scenes flashing before her eyes, "You just watched for years. Did you ever lift a finger to help me?"

Harvey was shaken, the hand holding his gun trembling uncontrollably.

"You were afraid of Avery, terrified. No, not just fear, there was admiration, a willingness to submit to him. And me? I was just a prize you’d claim when the time was right, after I’d lost all value to him. After all, you’ve been his loyal dog for years; he had no reason to deny you.

Harvey, save those lies for yourself. Spare me.”
