She was ready to burn her bridges, because she'd long since lost her will to live.
Even though she knew Elvis was waiting for her, she didn't want to continue. He deserved someone better. She couldn't hold him back.
Sunny was just a dark flower, sprouted from the soil of her own despair, nurtured in a greenhouse of sin. Before she withered away, her only wish was to drag Harvey down with her into the abyss!
"Elsie... I treated you so well... and you betray me... you've been deceiving me all along!"
In that moment, Harvey's eyes were wild, his face a mask of fury and madness, crying and laughing as if possessed, "Fine then... if that's how it is, let's end it all!
You did all this just to be with Elvis, to be star-crossed lovers. Hah... but you'll never get your wish in this lifetime!"
Harvey's grip tightened around Elsie's neck, slowly backing towards the edge of the rooftop.
Finally, his cold, damp kiss landed on Elsie's pale cheek, mixed with a bitter tear, "Ellie... if we can't be together in life, then let's be together in death, in another world."
The next second, Elsie's heart clenched painfully, her body felt weightless as she began to fall backward!
"Ellie!"
Elvis roared, his tall figure dashing towards Elsie like a shooting star!
Meanwhile, from the rooftop of the church.
Whoosh—!
A flash of blinding light, followed by the sharp sound of slicing air, rushed towards them from a hundred meters away!
Just as Elsie was about to be dragged down by the malicious Harvey, she heard a crisp crack overhead, like an egg smashing against a rock.
Her breath caught in her throat, her heart racing with fear!
The air seemed to freeze, and Elvis saw—
A bullet had opened a gruesome hole right in the center of Harvey's forehead.
He stared, mouth agape, his face twisted in shock and pain, as he fell backward.
Elsie closed her eyes tightly, bracing for death.
But, what she found instead was a deep, searing embrace.
As Harvey fell, Elvis managed to grab Elsie's arm, pulling her into his arms with a roar.
He bent over her, his broad body curling around her, offering his warmth as a shield, wishing he could embed her deep within his flesh.
"Ellie... it's okay now, it's all right," Elvis whispered, trembling with aftershock.
