It was in the middle of the day, and the tea shop was located in the neighboring mall, along with several other stores.
Reinette went from store to store, buying drinks and carrying them around, causing her to be covered in sweat in no time.
Her vision blacked out several times, but she managed to bite her lip to avoid fainting on the spot.
"President Lambert, you can rest assured about this joint project. Our mall is fully capable of handling it."
"Alright."
That was the only response.
Reinette's mind raced, thinking she had heard wrong.
Across the crowd, she squinted her eyes to get a better look.
On the escalator, a man in a finely tailored suit with a cold expression was slowly descending, followed by a group of bodyguards and secretaries.
It was Jadeon.
Just when things couldn't get any worse, they always did.
Reinette quickly picked up more than ten cups of coffee and walked into the crowd without hesitation.
She didn't care, but she didn't want Jadeon and her former colleagues to make fun of her.
However, she was probably just having a bad day.
As soon as she moved, she ran into someone.
Her mind was blown, and she lost her footing, falling backwards and spilling the coffee all over the floor. She ended up half-drenched in the mess.
There were screams all around, mixed with curses from the man she had bumped into, creating chaos.
"Reinette?"
Reinette didn't need to look up to recognize Syndee's voice from the secretary's office.
Amongst all the noise, the sound of leather shoes hitting the ground seemed to be clear, showcasing nobility despite the large crowd.
Reinette thought of Jadeon's disdainful gaze and imagined him calling her useless bitch inside of his.
"Why is Secretary Quincy here?"
