After thinking of how numb he felt when Lily poked at his acupuncture points, Austin felt uncomfortable.
“Nonsense!” Dominic berated and kicked Austin. He tried hard to control himself. “Since ancient times? What kind of bullsh*t is that? You better stop that! Are you from the Victorian era or something? Why didn’t you just stay and die in the era?”
“Granduncle, how could you say that to me?” Austin got upset.
“What? I want to kick you so badly!” As Dominic spoke, he lifted his leg and kicked it in Austin’s direction. Austin was not a fool, so he jumped to his feet and dodged quickly.
Dominic became dissatisfied when he failed to kick Austin. He kicked the glass by his side before continuing to yell at Austin, “I’m so old, yet I’m not even half as closed-minded as you are! Wake up and look at the times now!
“Times have changed, and did you not see how successful women can be? Your mom is willing to be a housewife and care for everything at home. Fine, that’s her choice, but other women want to be in the working world and make a career for themselves too.
“That’s their choice as well! How could you compare them this way? Should only men work and be successful? Tell me then! What have you achieved? Tell me!”
Before Austin could reply, Dominic continued, “Tell me something other than those few people you cured thanks to using my name.”
Austin spoke in a hurry in case he would get interjected again, “I’ve saved some patients’ lives before that!”
“Save their lives?” Dominic scoffed. “Go to the hospital. Forget about the doctors, but I can bet you that any nurses there would’ve saved more lives than you ever could! What are you being so proud of?”
