There was anxiety in Mike’s eyes as he looked up. “Don’t you lay a finger on him! You promised me that as long as I cooperated, you wouldn’t harm him.”
“But if you don’t behave, don’t blame us, okay?” The man stood up. He was unusually short and looked like he had slid down from his chair.
He neared Mike, and when he half-knelt in front of him, they were of the same height and eye level. This contrasted greatly with his voice and look ,he was like an underdeveloped child.
“Mike, don’t think I’m unaware of what you’re thinking. Do you think the Russell family could save your son?” His voice was dismissive, and his cunning eyes behind the mask were unfathomable.
“I know they can’t, and I can’t either. I’ve always obeyed your instructions. I only did it for the sake of the organization.” Catching his breath, Mike said as he endured the pain in his stomach.
“Oh?”
“You guys might have underestimated Lily. She’s not just a perfumer and an ordinary pharmacist because she has the backup of the Russell family. I know that family is nothing compared to the organization, but we’re in Hyderland and Kingsland.
“If anything happens to her here, the police will locate the place soon. E-Even if you and the organization aren’t afraid, any mistakes we make at this juncture would have serious consequences.”
The man in the mask paced back and forth, his hands behind him, without saying anything. He looked somewhat funny due to his size.
Mike continued, “Besides, Rhea’s imprisonment of Austin has already brought us trouble. If I haven't guessed wrongly, the police will locate this place soon!”
“If you hadn’t stopped me, I would have kept Lily here as my specimen, and the police could never find this place!” Rhea snorted and retorted, “The truth is you let her go on purpose because she’s your friend!”
