His Secret Spoiled Wife (Lily and Alexander) novel Chapter 1554

Maria was startled upon learning that the cops would be involved in this. Although she did not believe Rhea would do such a thing, she became skeptical after witnessing Cameron's seriousness in the matter and his firmness in rebuking Rhea.

“Cameron, we’re family. Why are you making such a big deal…” Maria started softly.

“We’re family, so why is your daughter so evil? Tasia was only about 12 years old at the time, and Rhea was around her age! How could a teenage girl have such a vicious heart? I’m sure all of you know how much Tasia has suffered over the years!

“I’m being kind enough not to throw her in prison already!” Cameron was infuriated beyond words. The only thing he wished he could do right now was to put Rhea behind bars and make her suffer the pain Anastasia had gone through.

However, Anastasia convinced him not to do so.

“Uncle Fabian and Aunt Maria would not be able to take it if Rhea goes to prison. They accompanied me most of the time when you weren’t home back then, and they did take care of me. Plus, Uncle Fabian is mom’s only brother, and Rhea is mom’s only niece.

“I think we should just settle this internally. The toxins in my body are almost cleared anyway. We can just cut off all ties with them in the future.” That was what Anastasia said when trying to convince Cameron to abandon his plan.

Consequently, he put up with it the whole time, though he was taken aback by Rhea's lack of remorse. At this moment, he wanted to break his promise to Anastasia and teach Rhea a lesson.

“Yeah. Ree was only a teenage girl, so how would she know about all that…”

“Rhea is smart, and she has won many international academic awards. Not only is she an expert in modern medicine, but she’s also well-versed in medicinal herbs. Since she was young, she has loved studying and learning about plants. I'm sure both of you are aware of this, Uncle Fabian and Aunt Maria," Anastasia said, "Rhea has always been a brilliant child."

There was another layer of meaning to Anastasia’s words. She meant to say that Rhea knew about medicinal herbs, and she knew clearly how to use them to achieve the targeted effects as well.

Maria was shocked to her core and turned to look at Rhea.

“Just because I know about all that, so it has to be me? Plus, you said that medicinal herbs poisoned you, so why are you the only one affected when everyone else around you is fine?” Rhea argued calmly.

Cameron, who had been calm the entire time, could not hold it in anymore and got up to his feet. “You’re still unwilling to admit your mistakes until now! Is it because you think that we have no evidence to prove that it was you?

“Fine! Let's take this case to court. I’ll make your wish come true, and by then, you’ll find out what kind of evidence we have. You’re not going to be able to escape by then!”

As he said, he took out his phone and made a call. “Hey, this is Cameron. I want to file a case!”

Before he could continue, Maria pounced over and kneeled on the ground as she hugged Cameron’s calf. “Cameron, you can’t report this to the cops! Rhea can’t be sued in court! There must be some sort of misunderstanding here! I’m sure of that! We must find out the truth about this! You can’t call the cops! If Fabian’s sister was still alive, she wouldn’t want this to happen…”

“Her only daughter had been harmed for so many years, do you think that would be what she wants?” Cameron bent to look down at Maria, his gaze cold and without any sympathy as he continued to speak on his phone, “Yeah. My daughter had been poisoned for many years, and I must get to the end of this!”

Fabian’s mind was blank. He just sat and said nothing, not knowing who to trust at this moment. Then he turned to look at Rhea. “Rhea, did you do it?”
