Lily felt like a fool when she realized her husband had known about it but said nothing until she revealed it. She looked away, upset.

Alexander held her shoulders, turned her over to face him, and said earnestly, no longer smiling, “I did find out yesterday, but I thought since you hadn’t told me, you must not have decided anything. I’d rather hear it from you than me asking about it.”

Lily said nothing and slowly returned her gaze to him.

“The fact you didn’t tell me right away shows you have either been struggling to have the child or mixed feelings about it. No matter what, you had your reason for not telling me. Still, I’m glad you decided to tell me so soon.” He truly loved and respected Lily beyond her imagination.

Hearing this, Lily felt there was nothing to be upset about. She only thought she should have told him right away and that deciding with him was the best option.

“So, what do you want to do?” Alexander asked her, shaking his head, “I should be asking you instead. I can tell you have been struggling over what to do. Do you not want the child?”

“I don’t know. I only feel it came at a bad time, or maybe I’m just not prepared.” Lily looked down to palm her tummy. She felt for the first time that becoming a parent was an enormous responsibility.

Since her parents died young, she had no guidance in this matter. She dreamed about having children in the future, but there was a difference between dreaming it and having a child in reality.

“If you’re unprepared and don’t want it, we should get it aborted soon. We’ll go to the hospital together.” Without a trace of hesitation, Alexander emphasized his every word.

“You don’t want it too?” Lily was stunned that he had said it so casually.

“No! I want it,” He answered without hesitation, “As I told you, I look forward to our children, but the child is not just mine, but yours too. So, if you’re not ready or don’t want it, you shouldn’t give birth to it. Nothing matters more than you.”
