That evening, when Lily came out of her office after packing her things, she saw Alexander’s car outside.

“Didn’t I tell you that you didn’t have to pick me up?” She sighed in defeat. Lily had driven here, but since he was here to pick her up, her car had to stay in the parking lot again.

“I wasn’t busy today,” he replied while leaning against the car door.

The setting sun shone on him, tracing his silhouette with a golden lining, and he looked like he was glowing. He opened the passenger seat door when he saw her getting close, helped her in, and then went back to his side to enter the vehicle.

“Edward’s not here again?” Lily noticed that she had been seeing Edward less recently and that Alexander had been driving more often.

“Isn’t it better to spend our time privately?” He said while fastening his seat belt, “Besides, we should also give him some time to spend with Olivia, no?”

Lily could not help but smile as she thought of Edward and Olivia.

“Right, I would never have thought those two would end up together. They’re so different. Edward’s such a proper person, and Olivia’s so talkative.” Just the thought of them together was interesting.

“How about us then?” He glanced at her, smiling.

Alexander did not wait for her answer and concentrated on driving. The ride was smooth, and since Lily had been working the whole day, she fell asleep unknowingly while leaning against the window. In the midst of her dozing off, she heard him ask, “I heard that Noah was here today.”
