“Why? Can’t we be here to shop?” Alexander glanced at Lily as he drove into the underground parking space.
Lily was rendered speechless. They could do that, but it was just that it was rare for them to shop together. They could not do this when they first got together because they had to stay out of the public eye. Later, they were both too preoccupied with their own work, making it difficult for them to spend this kind of free time together.
‘Why is he bringing me shopping out of the blue?’
Alexander parked the car and turned the engine off, but he was not in a hurry to get down. Instead, he turned to look at Lily and said thoughtfully, “There’s something I want to discuss with you.”
“What is it?”
He lowered his gaze for a moment, and when he looked up again, he said, “Let’s get married!”
Lily was stunned. Her eyes widened, and she could not return to her senses for a moment. “You’re so silly! We’ve already registered our marriage!”
“That’s not what I’m talking about. I meant to say, let’s have a wedding! One that is the city's grandest and most spectacular! I want everyone to know that you are my wife!” Alexander said thoughtfully as he held her hand in his.
It was his seriousness about the matter that touched Lily. “Why? What’s with the sudden thought?”
Before this, neither of them had given much thought to the subject. It was just a formality anyway, so Lily wondered why Alexander brought this topic up suddenly.
“Your pregnancy made me think of a lot of things.”
“I…” Lily wanted to correct him, saying that she wasn't pregnant and everything was just a miscommunication that would embarrass her.
