"Well, who would’ve expected that? I've always thought the Lodge family was renowned, almost on par with us. I didn't expect…" Celine trailed off and sighed as if she were at a loss for words.
"The Lodge family is nothing compared to us!" A scrawny man with a light scar on his face came over and snorted. "They only became famous because they inherited ancient kickboxing skills. Have they produced any notable figures after all these years? Let's not talk about the past, as even Wilfred's generation was already a disappointment.
That old man was like a turtle that only hides in its own shell. Although he taught many disciples, he always had the same excuse. He'd say he didn't kickbox to start fights, but rather to keep his body healthy. It's obvious that he's just weak and lying through his teeth. As for the younger generations... there's no need to even mention them!"
The man slowly sat down on the chair and continued, "Justin and Wilfred were made from the same mold. They're both cowards. I was hoping that Henry would be different, but who would’ve guessed that he’d be even more useless than the rest of them? The Lodge family is hopeless. How can they be compared to the Russells?"
"Yeah, Ralph is right. I never really had high opinions of her, to be honest. I still remember when she used to come over to our house to play. Back when she was younger, she was a beautiful child. It's a pity that she’s been through so much hardship. After her parents were killed, I didn't hear much about her, then she suddenly showed up again two years ago." Margaret nodded as she spoke. She had a very vague impression of Lily.
Despite Lily being with Alexander, Margaret had not bothered to look at Lily’s current appearance because of her negative bias. The only image Margaret had of Lily was from when she was a child.
"That woman has made quite a name for herself in the past two years. She was involved in lawsuits and a love triangle. I don't know what Alex sees in her. He could have any girl he wanted. Mom, do you know how embarrassed I am to even talk about this when I'm out with my friends?"
"What is there to talk about? She's not even a part of the Russell family," Margaret grunted.
"Whether we like it or not, the two of them have already gotten their certificates. Everyone knows about that…"
"So, what? As long as the Russell family doesn't accept her, she’s not associated with our family at all! She'll never be my granddaughter-in-law!"
Then she stood up with her cane and narrowed her eyes slightly. "Celine, come with me to Alex's house tomorrow."
"You're coming along?!" Celine asked in surprise.
"I want to go and see what's so special about that witch." Margaret's face was full of disdain.
She wanted to see for herself what type of woman Lily was.
After saying that, Margaret seemed to have thought of something and turned to Ralph. "Ralph, has Ms. Riggs been coming over these past two days? Make sure you accompany her and don't let your bad habits show."
"Mom, what bad habits are you talking about? As a man, am I not entitled to my hobbies?" He retorted, dissatisfied.
