Bonnie hugged Yasmine for a second and stepped back, saying, “Go home. We’ll meet again after I get the chip back.”
The latter’s eyes reddened as she stared at Bonnie. “I want to help you, but it’s a shame my leg is injured. I feel awful and powerless to aid you.”
The more Yasmine thought about it, the more distressed she felt. She even cried. However, it gave Bonnie a headache. She would have lost her patience and stopped talking to Yasmine under normal circumstances, but she knew Yasmine was genuinely concerned for her safety.
Bonnie could only comfort Yasmine, “I’m not just leaving you, but my men, too. I’ve wanted to do this alone for a while now. Your injury doesn’t matter since I won’t let you follow me anyway. Stop beating yourself up.”
Yasmine could barely stop crying even after Bonnie comforted her. The former wiped her tears and said, “Please be careful and promise to return safely.”
“All right, I will.” Bonnie nodded assuringly.
Regardless of Yasmine’s reluctance, she eventually left with Ivor and the gang. However, Ivor patted “Bonnie’s” shoulder before he left, saying, “Stay safe.”
“I will,” she responded smilingly.
Soon after, only Bonnie and Collin remained in the basement. The latter could not help but giggle when he thought about how Yasmine regarded Bonnie. “You have such charisma, chief. Even though I’m a man, I’m starting to get jealous. You have luck with the ladies.”
She glanced sidelong at him and asked, “Do you want some of my luck?”
Collin faked a helpless sigh. “I would’ve responded more passionately if someone treated me the way Yasmine treats you. However, I don’t have someone like that in my life.”
Bonnie knew he was pretending. She rolled her eyes and said, “That’s enough of that. I need to discuss the rest of my arrangements with you.”
Collin’s expression turned solemn. “You got it, Chief.”
She walked ahead and briefly explained her needs. Afterward, he nodded and said, “Loud and clear. You can trust me to prepare everything.”
“Perfect,” she responded faintly.
Although Collin had always portrayed himself as immature and unreliable, he knew the magnitude of serious situations. That was why Bonnie felt confident to entrust him with such tasks.
The following day, Bonnie disguised herself as another person and packed her things before leaving to where Billy’s organization recruited technicians.
…
Although Yasmine was still injured, she marched ahead and peered at Bonnie’s hotel room. “Will you pick up your pace, boss? What’ll I do if my savior leaves before I get to see him?”
