Ivor frowned and said coldly, “I thought you said your farewells yesterday. Why do you need to do it again?”
“That was different! Today is when my savior will enter the belly of the beast. Why would you think it’s the same thing?” Yasmine would only feel at ease if she saw Bonnie off. Otherwise, the former would be worried all day.
Ivor glanced at Yasmine indifferently. “You’re so enthusiastic that you forgot to consider if your ‘savior’ wants you to do this.”
Yasmine gulped and grumbled, “I can wish him good luck if I see him today.”
Ivor had no comebacks for that. He thought, ‘She’s just yapping at this point.’
At that moment, Bonnie came out and was surprised to see Yasmine, Ivor, and Floyd in the hallway. Bonnie knew how clingy Yasmine was. If the former stopped to greet them, she would waste precious time.
Bonnie had no intention of letting anything interrupt her, so she did not greet them. Instead, she pulled down her hat and brushed past them.
The trio did not notice her walking past them. When they reached her room, Yasmine knocked on the door incessantly.
Knock, knock, knock!
No one responded even after she knocked several times. She knocked harder and shouted, “Hello?! Are you in there?!”
Her heart dropped as she stared at the closed door. “Did he leave already? It’s a shame I didn’t get to see him off.”
Ivor felt helpless, saying, “You’re making it seem like he’s never coming back. You’ll see him again once he returns.”
“No, it’s different.” Yasmine felt disheartened that she could not see her savior off. She was about to say something when Collin opened the door.
