Chapter 297
“Heh!” Jesper sneered. “Just a little kid, what does she know? Buying and cutting jadeite is like gambling. How can we let a child mess around with it?”
Avril was most annoyed when others looked down on Bonnie. “Hey, who do you think you are? Why are you so rude?”
“Hush–” Flynn quickly gestured to Avril to be quiet. “Don’t speak out of turn. He’s a big shot in the antique and jade world.”
“Even if he’s powerful, he can’t just attack others, right? Besides, this is our own business. If we want Bonnie to cut some stones for fun, what’s wrong with that?”
Regardless of who the other person was, no one could look down on Bonnie in Avril’s
heart.
“Hmph!” Jesper snorted coldly. “Ignorant brat, you’re not worth my time.”
“Yes, yes, she’s just a kid. Mr. Jesper, you’re a big shot. You shouldn’t lower yourself to her level.” Flynn felt torn. One was a master in antiques, and the other was Bonnie’s
friend. He couldn’t afford to offend either.
Flynn led him to the exhibition booth to divert Jesper’s attention.
“Mr. Jesper, which of these rough stones do you think will yield green?”
Jesper carefully observed, then pointed to one of the stones after a while and said, “This one is from the Pagan area and should produce good jadeite.”
T ‘Really?” Flynn became excited.
Bonnie glanced over and frowned. “Considering you’re the grandson of Mr. Sigmund, I’ll remind you, while this stone is indeed from the Pagan area, it’s not from the old mine. It probably won’t yield anything good. I’m afraid it won’t even produce an inch of green.”
“This
Flynn didn’t know what to say. Although Bonnie was a distinguished academic, this was about geology. This woman couldn’t have known everything.
“Ridiculous!” Jesper rebuked angrily. “You little brat, what do you know? How dare you say I’m wrong! The auda-”
“Mr. Jesper, Mr. Jesper, don’t argue with her. Let’s cut some jade, let’s cut some jade now.
Flynn quickly pulled Jesper away.
“Hmph” Jesper snorted again, glaring at Bonnie, “Today, I’ll let it go because of Mr. Flynn. But if there’s a next time, I’ll make you regret crossing me!”
Flynn hurriedly called someone over to start cutting the stone, and soon, many people gathered around.
Among them were many who knew Jesper,
“It’s Mr. Jesper from Sacryment! He’s no ordinary person, definitely a big shot in our
field.”
“Mr. Flynn must be from the Knight family in the city. Well, only someone like that could get Mr. Jesper here.”
“Mr. Jesper’s chosen rough stone must be a gem. I’m curious to see what kind of jade it will yield.”
