Chapter 536 Visit the Villa
"Mrs. Lily Martin, please calm down," Larry said gently. "I think Benjamin probably did this to protect Harper. We all have different views and perspectives, so we can't always control everything."
"Then he could have sent her back to Martin Manor, why locked her up there alone?"
Lily just couldn't accept it.
When she thought about how Benjamin had lied to her and how Harper was keeping to herself these days, she felt so guilty and sorry for Harper.
Harper was carrying his child, the offspring of the Martin family. How could they treat her like that?
The more she thought about it, the worse she felt.
Annie pursed her lips. She also knew that Lily was very close to Harper, so she took the initiative to comfort Lily. "Mrs. Lily Martin, don't worry, I'm sure Harper will be fine. Mr. Martin must have his reasons. We will find out when we see Haper. We can talk about other things after we see her. Don't feel bad, okay?"
Annie is good-looking. When she smiled, people felt warm and comfortable.
Lily couldn't help but say, "Harper's friends are all so adorable, just like her. Oh, do you have a boyfriend? Would you like me to introduce one to you?"
All of a sudden, the atmosphere became strange.
There was a feeling of unease in the air.
Annie gave a tight smile and said, "Mrs. Lily Martin, you are so kind."
"Don't worry, sweetheart. You and Harper are best friends, so you are dear to me too. I don't want to miss such a lovely girl like you. I have many good friends, all of their children are single and in good condition. Just check with Larry, and he knows I'm telling the truth."
Lily didn't notice anything unusual at all. She even got Larry to help her as a matchmaker.
Larry's face fell a tiny bit. He explained to her in a low voice, "Ms. Lily Martin, Annie is very shy. Please stop teasing her."
It was only then that Lily noticed something strange. Then her eyes wandered back and forth between the two of them, and she said calmly, "Oh, okay, I get it."
The smile on her face deepened as she spoke.
