Chapter 537 Command
Harper shook her head. Annie handed her the phone and asked, "How much do you know about the situation between Benjamin and Lauren? Is there any truth to the news?"
Harper held the phone tightly. She looked at the online news with empty eyes.
She was completely unaware of the news, let alone what was happening outside.
When she saw what people were discussing about Lauren and Benjamin online, she felt so confused and her face froze.
So Benjamin kept her here and didn't allow her to go out just to be with Lauren?
She lowered her head, handed the phone back to Annie, and said in a calm voice, "Don't worry, I'm fine. Thank you for coming to see me. Did Benjamin mention when he might let me out?"
There was no response from any of the three.
When Harper saw this, she immediately realized that they had come here without Benjamin's knowledge. That meant Benjamin wouldn't have allowed them to come if he'd known.
She thought, "This was ridiculous. You wanted to go public with Lauren, so why did you hide it from me?
Just tell me directly. Are you afraid that I will hurt the baby?"
She really wanted to tell Benjamin that she wouldn't harm her child for anything. The child was not only Benjamin's but also hers. She'd been pregnant for ten months, so she knew the child best. Only a mother could truly understand the bond between a mother and her baby.
So it's not necessary for him to do that.
Harper took a deep breath and smiled. It was heartbreaking to see.
Annie reached out to grab her shoulder. It might have been the right thing to do, to hide it from her. But Annie knew her well enough to know that hiding it would hurt her more than telling her.
