"Let me do it."
After saying that, James took out his lighter. When he was about to ignite it, Lydia said, "The fireworks which your dad let off just now were single ones, but these are combinations. The last one was specially customized according to my request. It's called 'Sparks Fly'. The sales told me that these fireworks would be so beautiful when they're lit, and they have a very lucky meaning. So, the last one should be lit by Elizabeth personally. You have to keep it for her."
James nodded, "Got it."
He bent over and ignited the fireworks. After a few seconds, a loud bang sounded. Then a beam of white light darted out at an extremely fast speed. When it reached a certain height, a huge white flower bloomed in the sky.
"Bang..."
"Whoosh..."
A series of loud noises rang in their ears one after another, and lots
of fireworks burst simultaneously in midair.
Red, white, blue and purple...
The sky was full of brightly coloured fireworks. They were flower- shaped, but they also looked like rainbows, which were extremely dramatic.
When those fireworks were about to disappear, they paused in the sky for a few seconds, and then a few fireworks exploded into the night. They were no longer flower-shaped. Instead, it showed a line of words in the air— Elizabeth, Happy Birthday!
Elizabeth looked at the words in the air and covered her mouth. Tears ran out of her eyes again, which were tears of surprise, emotion, and happiness.
When the last firework, which was the shape of a smiling face, was ignited, the display of fireworks was finished.
Lydia grabbed the lighter from James's hands, and then handed it to Elizabeth, "Now i's your turn. Go and ignite your'Sparks Fly'!"
Although Elizabeth thought the fireworks were beautiful, she had never ignited it.
She should light it at a close distance... Although she was a little scared, looking at Lydia's smiling face, she finally took the lighter. She had not calmed down, so her hands were trembling slightly.
She tried a few times but didn't light it up.
James sighed and walked to her, "Honey, just let me do it." Although it was her lucky firework, he was her husband, so the meaning would be the same.
"Hey! Don't do that!" Lydia heard this and stopped him in a hurry.
"Mom, Elizabeth can't do that, can she?"
Hearing this, Elizabeth stood up with embarrassment. With tears in her eyes, she said to Lydia with a smile, "Mom, why don't we let him ignite it? It's all the same."
Lydia frowned. Although she really wanted to ask Elizabeth to light it, she did not force her when she saw this.
She nodded with depression. When James bent over again, a thought flashed through her mind and she suddenly shouted, "Hey! Jimmy! Wait a minute!"
James stood up straight, "What's wrong?"
Lydia smiled as she pouted at the lighter in James's hand. The smile on her face became brighter and brighter as she said, "Well... let me do it.
