James Lu was still in a meeting when he received Isaac Bai's phone call. He immediately abandoned the meeting and rushed to the Grand Dynasty Hotel.
God damn it Elizabeth Liang, why was she at the Grand Dynasty?
A thought flashed across his mind. He couldn't help but frown as he drove. Could she have...
After throwing his car key to the doorman, he rushed into the lobby and saw Isaac and Benjamin Cheng waiting for him in the leisure area. He quickly ran over and asked, "Where's Elizabeth?"
Isaac shrugged and threw the cigarette that he had just finished smoking into the ashtray. "One of Ben's workers said that she's on the 29th floor."
Isaac saw Elizabeth taking the elevator. He didn't know what she was doing here, but he didn't want to follow her by himself. So he asked a staff member of the Grand Dynasty to see where she was going.
James looked at Benjamin and asked, "Is Sir Wu in your hotel?"
"Sir Wu?" Benjamin leaned against the back of the armchair. "Are you talking about the Sir Wu who just came back from the U.S.?"
"Exactly!"
Benjamin nodded, "He's on the 28th floor. Room 2809." James did a sharp inhalation. He was right! That little woman WAS looking for Sir Wu!
"Is Elizabeth in his room?"
Benjamin took a long while to reply,"... Yes."
"Damn it!" James gritted his teeth and turned around to walk to the elevator.
"Hey! Where are you going?" Isaac shouted at him. "They're probably just talking."
A young woman staying alone with a successful businessman in one room for almost an hour, that sounded...
James couldn't be bothered to reply. His face twisted further as he quickened his pace.
It took less than two minutes to get to the 29th floor from the lobby, but James's emotions were on a rollercoaster the entire time.
He knew for sure that Elizabeth was here to look for Sir Wu and save the business deal.
That idiot! Was what he said this morning all for nothing?
Sir Wu was an extremely successful businessman, but he was known for having a strange temperament. No deals for people he didn't like, and no deals when he wasn't in good mood.
He didn't mind giving up that property, just take it as a lesson for her. Why was she still here? Was she not embarrassed enough already? So she wanted to embarrass herself further in his face?
However, he wasn't even worried about her being an embarrassment. His biggest worry was why she had been there so long without coming out yet!
He wasn't familiar with Sir Wu.
Sir Wu might be a successful businessman, but it didn't mean that he was a respectable man.
If Sir Wu decided to take advantage of this young pretty girl, how was she going to defend herself all on her own?
James tried his best to suppress the anger and anxiety inside him as he stood in front of Room 2809. With a stony yet still attractive face, he knocked on the door.
After a short while, someone opened the door. It was Elizabeth.
Elizabeth was stunned to see James standing outside the door. "Why are you here?" She couldn't fathom why James was here in front of her.
James observed that she was neatly dressed and there was nothing unusual about her. He finally felt somewhat relieved. At least she was okay!
His heart has gone down from his throat, but his face was still twisted. He glared at her so menacingly as if he was trying to strangle her with his eyes.
Elizabeth had no idea why he looked so unhappy, but when she remembered Sir Wu's words, she couldn't help but smile happily and say, "Guess what..."
James didn't want to listen to a single word. He grabbed her tiny wrist and dragged her away.
