I Only Want You novel Chapter 65

"You don't love me, and I..." Elizabeth Liang paused and then slowly saying. "I don't love you either. I know you're in love with someone else, and if that person ever came back, you'd probably want to divorce me as fast as possible ..."

She felt a pang of pain in her heart, but she tried her best to smile calmly and peacefully. "If I become used to taking what you give me and relying on you for everything, what should I do when you're gone?"

"..." James Lu's imposing figure trembled slightly. He didn't know whether it was because she said that they didn't love each other, or because she said that he would divorce her as fast as possible.

"After what happened with Uncle Wu, I've truly realized that just studying is not enough. It took me some time to understand that, but it's not too late yet, is it? I need to learn more than what my college can offer me. I have to go out and face the challenges of society."

James moved his lips. After a while, he spoke with conviction, "I chose to get married, therefore I never thought about getting a divorce, remember that. So quit worrying about anything. Now." He looked at her. "Stop thinking about going out to work or whatever the hell, because I can support my own wife!"

Elizabeth's head buzzed loudly as all the blood in her body rushed upwards. She was completely stunned, and her heart beat erratically.

What did he just say? That he never thought about divorcing? He could support his own wife?

His own wife...

When Elizabeth recovered from the shock, she smiled but with a dead serious look in her eyes. "No matter what you think, I'm still going to work."

"You..." James inhaled deeply but still felt out of breath. He took out a cigarette and lit it, then spat out a mouthful of smoke and scowled at her, "Elizabeth Liang..."

"Don't be mad, okay, James?" Elizabeth closed her fists. "You're still going to help me take back the Liang estate and the Liang Company, right?"

"Of course!" He glared at her. "But that doesn't mean you need to go out and publically expose yourself!"

"..." Elizabeth was speechless. "Why is working 'publically exposing myself?"

"It is because I said so!" James resumed to being a controlling and unreasonable little bully. "Remember what I said when I made fun of Theodore Chao? And now you're going out to work to embarrass me?"

"No! And my work is completely different from Josephine Liang's!"

Elizabeth sighed, but she still tried to patiently persuade him, "Think about it. Do you think it would be better if I didn't know how to do anything when you take back the company for me? The Liang Company was the life's work of my mother and father. I have to be able to do my best. Even if I can't make the company grow bigger, I can at least try and not be a useless idiot. Wouldn't you agree?"

"Hmph!"

What she was saying did make some sense.

"Please agree, please, pretty please!" Elizabeth began sweetly coaxing James.

She swayed his arm back and forth with an eager and cute expression.

"Hey, hey, hey! Stop touching me!" James irritably jerked his arm away with an annoyed expression.

Without his arm to grab, Elizabeth put her hands together in a pleading gesture, "Please, pretty please, you're the best James!"

"Ahem!" James might have been pleased by her adorably stupid face. He rolled his eyes petulantly and said, "When am I not the best?"

"You're always the best, James!"

James grinned a little wider. He gave her a side-eye and crossed his arms. "You wanna go out and work?"
