After telling Samuel what he wanted to do, James felt much better in his heart.
It was a little late, so he hurried to buy something and then went to the hospital.
"Young Master..."
"Shh!"
James pushed open the door. Seeing that Elizabeth was sleeping soundly, he hurriedly motioned to Jane not to speak.
Jane nodded. She felt that her voice seemed to be a little loud just now and smiled awkwardly.
After glancing at Elizabeth in the hospital bed, James said to Jane in a soft voice, "Is she sleeping all the time?"
"Yeah." Jane nodded, and also said in a low voice, "Young Madam has been sleeping since she finished her meal, but..."
"But what?"
"I don't know if she had a nightmare. She talked in her sleep from time to time, but I couldn't hear her words clearly. She seemed to be terrified and kept shaking her head. Maybe she had a bad dream."
"Really?" James frowned. Looking at Elizabeth's sound sleeping face, he was not as relaxed as he was on the surface.
If a timid man was kidnapped and almost died, he would live in constant fear for the rest of his life, not to mention that Elizabeth was just a weak woman.
He pursed his lips and did not say anything, but he felt that the decision he had just made was right.
"Yeah. I didn't dare to wake her up, because I was afraid that I would frighten her. Fortunately, it didn't last long. Maybe Young Madam was just scared by the nightmare."
"I see."
After saying this, James didn't say anything more. He walked to the bed and stared at Elizabeth for a while with his face full of tenderness and pity. Then he raised his hand and touched her face gently.
However, as soon as he rubbed Elizabeth's face, she moved her eyelids.
Seeing this, James quickly withdrew his hand. But before he could put down his hand, Elizabeth woke up.
James said guiltily, "Did I wake you up?"
Elizabeth looked at James and smiled softly. Then, she shook her head lightly, "I slept for a while, and now I want to go to the toilet. When did you come back? Have you eaten your breakfast?" In fact, she lied.
In this strange environment, she became more sensitive. Thinking about what happened yesterday, she didn't sleep very well. So, when James touched her face, she woke up.
Recalling the conversation with the doctor, James knew that it was a normal physiological phenomenon.
He nodded and smiled at her gently, "Okay, I'll hold you." After that, he was about to lift the quilt.
"There's no need." Elizabeth saw that Jane was still in the room, so she shook her head and refused him, "I can go to the toilet by myself. I ate something and slept for a while, so I feel much better now." If she needed him to carry her to the toilet all the time, it would be so troublesome. Moreover, Jane would think that she was hypocritical.
"You didn't get out of the bed by yourself. How do you know that you can go there on your own? What if you fall to the ground?"
"I can really... Ah!"
Before Elizabeth could finish her words, she let out a cry in surprise. James had carried her in his arms.
