A heavy cough came from the door.
"Mom, you're here?" Elizabeth took the lead to speak and then greeted Auntie Chang who was behind Lydia, "Auntie Chang, I'm sorry to trouble you."
"Young Madam, please don't be so polite. This is a happy thing." Auntie Chang said with a smile and walked in with Lydia, carrying lots of things in her hand.
Jane stood up in a hurry, "Madam, good morning."
"Jane, nice to meet you." Lydia smiled and then looked at Elizabeth on the bed.
"Elizabeth, are you hungry?" Lydia rushed to the bedside and said to Elizabeth with a smile, "Just now, Jimmy asked me to hurry because he was afraid that you would starve. When your father and I went back, it was so late, and Auntie Chang had fallen sleep. Early in the morning today, Auntie Chang and I went to buy these things, so we came here late."
Elizabeth shook her head, "No, I'm not very hungry."
It was very late when John and Lydia came back home. Lydia went to buy food for her early in the morning. She probably only slept for one or two hours, and she did all these for her...
She felt a little guilty in her heart, and she was deeply moved.
"Why do you say that? Didn't you say that you were hungry just now?" James asked directly.
Hearing this, Elizabeth glanced at James and motioned to him not to speak.
James pretended that he didn't see anything, "Honey, we are family. You are pregnant now. Just tell us what you want. No one will blame you. Understand?"
"That's right, Elizabeth." Lydia said, "Jimmy is right. If you want to eat something or need something, just tell us directly. You don't have to feel embarrassed at all."
Elizabeth gave a dry smile, "I just feel that I've troubled you too much."
She grew up in her uncle's family, so she didn't like to bother others. After all, at that time, even if she wanted to ask for their help, they ignored her.
So, gradually, she learned to deal with her affairs by herself. Troubling others always gave her a sense of guilt.
Although she didn't ask Lydia and James to do those things for her, she felt that it was not very proper. But at the same time, she felt warm in heart because they loved her and cared about her very much.
"Hey! My fool child, what are you talking about? We're family, and this is what we should do! Besides, you need to be looked after now. You should rest well and eat more so that you can recover."
"Mmm."
"Well, come and eat quickly." Saying this, Lydia opened the lunch boxes she brought with Auntie Chang, "We didn't have much time, so we cooked crucian soup and made some bland dishes. The chicken soup is being cooked at home, and I'll bring it to you in the afternoon. Chicken soup should be cooked for a long time so that it will taste good.
"Okay." Elizabeth nodded with a smile.
Glancing at the soup and dishes on the wooden table, James looked at Lydia, "Mom, where is my breakfast? Didn't you say that you brought breakfast for me?"
Although he ate some noodles in Isaac's house, Isaac seemed to have misunderstood him and didn't cook a lot of noodles for him.
If he had his breakfast and lunch regularly yesterday, he could manage to fill his stomach with those noodles.
But... he didn't eat anything but the noodles yesterday! The noodles could barely fill his stomach, and he was still hungry.
After he received the call from Lydia, he thought he could have a wonderful meal, but... where was his meal?
