I Only Want You novel Chapter 897

Lawrence raised his eyebrows. "How did you know?"

Evelyn's eyes widened. "Really? Did I say it right?" However, when she imagined that Lawrence cleaned the toilet and offices wearing uniforms, Evelyn felt it funny.

Looking at Evelyn, who was trying her best to hold back her laughter, Lawrence chuckled, "Just kidding. How is that possible?"

Hearing this, Evelyn laughed drily and said, "I was just joking with you. Didn't you realize it?" Actually, she didn't. She even was thinking to watch him cleaning afterwards.

Lawrence didn't talk her through. He simply said, "I'm at the sales department." After speaking, he shrugged. "I just joined a few days ago. There is a lot for me to learn. So I'm busy."

"Oh, when did you start working? I thought..."

"What did you think?"

Evelyn thought he would keep playing without working. But of course, she wouldn't say it out. Anyway, his family was rich enough that he could choose to play. Kids from poor families like her had to start part-time jobs early to make money.

Though she didn't say it, Lawrence could guess it. "Did you think that I won't go to work and will keep playing, didn't you?"

After hearing that, Evelyn did not deny it, but she was quite embarrassed.

Well, how did he know?

"I understand why you think so. Don't feel sorry." Lawrence wasn't angry but chuckled, "I'm not a child anymore. After years of education, I now want to help my father with business. Well, anyway, it's my family's company and one day I will have to take it over. It's not good for me to keep playing."

"And, my uncle." He paused and then shook his head. "I'm still not used to call him uncle. Anyway, he's a successful man. He's outstanding in business and character. For years I have taken him as my role model. My parents are happy for me to do so as well."

"But Evelyn, let me tell you. It will take years for me to work hard to be as successful as he is. Maybe I won't make it in my life. But I don't want to give myself too much pressure. I will only focus on trying my best. My father has taught me that no matter what I do, I have to try my best so that I won't regret or feel sorry." After saying these words, his face was full of profligate and ambition for the future.

However, he didn't realize that he was wrong for one thing. When he realized his successful uncle would chase the same woman he loved, he would be so regretful. Of course, all of them hadn't happened yet.

"Indeed. With goals and motivation, you will be energetic in doing everything." Evelyn said, "And, as you said, as long as you try your best, it's fine whether you make it or not. We are all unique personnel in the world. You may be less successful in one way. But you would be stronger in the other way. We all have our advantages and disadvantages, don't we?"

"Yes." Lawrence nodded. "You're right."

"It's true." Evelyn said seriously, "Your uncle may be so successful that you will never catch up with him. But he may not be as happy as you. Don't you think so?" Evelyn thought Lawrence's uncle must be at least 40 years old. How happy would he be?

Lawrence felt that it did make sense as Evelyn said. "Yes, that's right." he raved, "Evelyn, I feel much more relaxed after hearing what you said. I feel with less pressure."
