When recalling that scene, Dr. Dawson's face was filled with satisfaction, like she was looking at her own kid. But when she thought about what happened later, Dr. Dawson's smile vanished in an instant, leaving only endless worry and loss.
Then she said, "Marc led the team to successfully secure the deal and got the project. He spearheaded the Hartley Group to win this battle. However, he worked through an injury which resulted in long-term health issues. If he doesn't watch out for his health, his wife might end up a widow at a young age."
Jayden chimed in, "So President Hartley's unconscious state isn't just due to alcohol damaging his stomach, but also has a lot to do with that injury?"
Dr. Dawson retorted, "What else could it be?"
After hearing this, Jayden pondered for a moment then suggested, "Should we inform Cornelia, so she can come and take care of President Hartley? Maybe her presence can speed up his recovery."
Dr. Dawson gave him a stern look, "Didn't you hear Marc say he didn't want Cornelia to know about this before he passed out?"
Jayden replied, "I was in a hurry to drive to the hospital at that time, I didn't hear it clearly."
"Cornelia..." Dr. Dawson said her name and then got up to walk towards the intensive care unit. She looked through the transparent glass at Marcus lying on the hospital bed, "Cornelia is a good girl, but she may not be good for Marc. She might even harm him."
Jayden seemed to understand but also seemed confused, "Are you saying Cornelia can't stay by President Hartley's side anymore?"
Dr. Dawson instinctively nodded and then quickly shook her head, "Cornelia is smart and loyal. She even saved Marc in the West Region. She's a great girl. If she was just Marc's assistant, it would be fine. But Cornelia is also Marc's wife!"
Jayden was impatient, "What are you trying to say?"
