Ryan deliberately asked, "Marc, who are you waiting for?"
Marcus first glanced at Cornelia. He got a million things on the tip of his tongue, but Cornelia beat him to it, "President Hartley, thanks for getting me out of that jam!"
It was a subtle way of telling him not to spill the beans about their real relationship.
He let out a helpless chuckle, "Hop in, I'll give you a ride."
After Marcus spilled the beans, Cornelia was unsure of how to be alone with him. She quickly sidestepped, "Mr. Ryan, did you really mean it when you said you'd treat us to dinner?"
Ryan said, "Absolutely. But it mostly depends on whether Marc agrees."
Marcus said, "Sure, let's go eat first."
Ryan said, "You pick the place."
Marcus said, "Flavor Fusion."
Ryan got the hint, "Are you sure about Flavor Fusion?"
Marcus said, "Where it ended, there it starts."
Ryan got the drift, they had run into Cornelia at Flavor Fusion before, but he had let her slip away, "Alright, I'll make a reservation. You guys go ahead, see you in a bit."
Leonardo said, "What's with all the secret talk? Did I miss something? Have I been asleep for years and lost my memory, or am I just out of the loop?"
Marcus ignored him and opened the car door for Cornelia.
Once in the car, she looked around, avoiding eye contact with Marcus.
Marcus spoke up, "Cornelia."
Cornelia asked, "Hmm?"
