Taylor said, "I got this, don't sweat it. If the info you gave me actually has news value, I'll split the cash I make with you."
"Okay." Cornelia replied.
After she hung up with Taylor, Cornelia summarized what happened that night in a clear and concise way and sent it over to Taylor.
"Any vital stuff I need to highlight?" Taylor asked.
"Just wing it." Cornelia said, "You media people know better than me how to catch people's attention."
"Got it." Taylor replied.
Abigail and Zack, sitting on either side of Cornelia, both saw the message she sent. And they were both majorly pissed off.
"How can the Reese family be such a pain in the butt?" Abigail asked, "We didn't do anything to them, why are they always coming after you?"
Zack was fuming. He slammed his hand on the table, stood up and was ready to storm out, "I'm gonna teach them a lesson."
He could take some unfair treatment, but he couldn't stand it when Cornelia was hurt.
"Zack, cool your jets." Cornelia immediately stopped him, "You think charging over there is gonna solve anything? Think violence is the answer? We need to handle this legally."
Zack fell silent.
Cornelia lightly patted him on the shoulder, "You guys only saw the front end of the messages, but not how they apologized to me afterwards. Let me tell you, the ones who messed up tonight were the Reese family, not me."
"I'm useless, can't do anything to help you." Zack said, always believing he was supposed to be their rock.
But the truth was, many times he was just spinning his wheels. This realization hit Zack hard. He thought it was a good thing Cornelia had Marcus by her side. At least with him around, nobody dared to bully her, "Is he good to you?"
He couldn't even bring himself to say his name, but Cornelia got his drift, "He said he'll always have my back. Don't think of him as Marcus."
