Marcus was still sporting his usual white shirt and black trousers. He stood tall and elegant next to the car, his gaze falling on Cornelia who was running towards him. His eyes were full of intense affection behind his silver-rimmed glasses.
Seeing him up ahead, Cornelia felt a bit shy and slowed down her pace, walking towards him, "Why did you ask me to come out?"
It was hot out and she had been running, her cheeks were flushed and it made her look incredibly adorable.
Marcus chuckled and ruffled her hair, "Get in the car first, I'll take you somewhere."
"Where?" As Marcus reached out to hold her hand, Cornelia not only didn't extend her hand, but also instinctively hid it behind her, "It's too hot, my hands get sweaty."
Marcus understood her excuse to avoid holding hands, but he didn't call her out on it. He opened the passenger door for her and let her get into the car first. Afterward, he got into the driver's seat and slowly drove out of the villa.
About ten minutes passed without a word from Cornelia. Marcus glanced at her and noticed her sitting silently in the passenger seat, "Why aren't you talking?"
Cornelia said, "I'm thinking."
Marcus asked, "About what?"
Cornelia said, "I'm wondering where you're taking me."
Marcus said, "You could have just asked me directly."
Cornelia said, "I did ask, but you didn't answer."
Marcus said, "We'll be there soon. You'll know when we get there."
