Marcus said, "I've got someone looking into Natalia's birthday. If the Reese family really is pulling a fast one, we should have proof soon enough."
Cornelia bit her lip excitedly and immediately whipped out her phone to video call Natalia. The call was picked up quickly. She wanted to ask how Natalia was doing, but before she could say a word, a face she didn't like appeared on the screen. Cornelia asked, "Did you guys take Natalia's phone?”
Clair responded with a smile, "Natalia hasn't been in a great mood lately, crying with her phone in her hand. I suspected someone might be fooling her, so I took her phone to see who she's been talking to. She's your sister, and you should care about her."
Hearing Clair's voice, Cornelia immediately ended the call. She turned to Marcus, "I suspect Natalia isn't doing well with the Reese family. They might be restricting her freedom. Can you help me out?"
Marcus asked, "Hmm, what do you want me to do?"
Cornelia anxiously replied, "The Reese family has been wanting to marry Natalia off to you forever, just agree..."
Before she could finish, Marcus cut her off, "Cornelia, you're my wife, I love only you in this lifetime. Stop overthinking things."
Cornelia immediately hugged Marcus, "I don't mean for you to really marry Natalia, I just hope you can use it as an excuse to have your guys pick her up from the Reese family. Say you want her to stay with you for a few days to get to know each other, they probably won't decline, right?"
She felt that as long as they could get Natalia out of the Reese family, all problems would be solved.
"I'll arrange for someone to pick her up right away." Marcus said, looking a bit grim. He felt that in Cornelia's world, her friends and family seemed more important than him, her husband.
