So there he was, Alex, caught in a scenario that seemed straight out of a tragic Hollywood romance, all the while thinking Florence's fake engagement was his only way out. He never really explained himself, assuming Whitney would just get it, that all his actions were for his mom and little brother, Sammy.
But Whitney? She was far from understanding. In her eyes, betrayal was betrayal, and she couldn’t find it in herself to forgive him. So in her quest for something better, she turned to Bryce. Oh, the irony.
The entire wedding was like a scene from a movie, all eyes on Alex as he stumbled through his desperation and despair. The most sought-after bachelor in all of Harmonia Country, now just a shadow of his former self. His eyes were a tumultuous storm of regret and chaos.
“Whitney, would it change anything if I said I’m sorry? Could you ever forgive me?” he managed through teary eyes, his voice breaking.
Whitney’s heart skipped a beat, only to return to its icy demeanor, “It’s impossible. Please, don't ruin my wedding day.”
“What if I can’t help but interrupt? What if I have to take you away from here?” Alex stepped closer, determination in his every stride.
Whitney clenched her eyes shut, all too familiar with this side of him. She detested him, loathed him, “Alex, don’t you dare think you can rule the world!”
“I can and I will,” he chuckled darkly, a sound chilling to the bone.
His gaze was unyielding, locking onto Bryce, “You still don’t get who I am, do you? I’m Alex. What I want, I get. Whitney, you're mine, in this life and the next, marriage certificate or not. Come with me!”
The audacity and arrogance left Bryce and Whitney stunned, underestimating the depths of his shamelessness.
“I don’t love you anymore. Did you get that? I love Bryce, why else would I marry him?” Whitney’s words were a desperate plea for freedom, her eyes brimming with tears.
But Alex, ever the relentless soul, grabbed her wrist, his laughter dark and menacing, “You can love Bryce all you want, but you’re still mine. I can make you stay, love him in my arms!”
“You’re inhuman!” Whitney’s face flushed with anger and disbelief.
“If you lay a finger on her, I swear I’ll end you!” Bryce threatened, gun in hand, stepping forward.
Alex’s patience had worn thin, his voice a whisper of menace by Whitney’s ear, “You’re willing to give up Sammy for this? Follow me if you want to see him again.”
The mention of Sammy rooted Whitney to the spot. Her heart ached at the thought of Sammy under Florence’s clutches.
“Sammy is with you? That’s impossible…”
“Want to see the video proof?” Alex’s eyes were cold, unyielding.
Whitney was speechless, her breath caught in her throat. Could Alex have really saved Sammy?
“Where is he?”
“Leave Bryce, come with me, and you’ll get your answer,” he threatened, leaving her trapped in indecision.
Her eyes welled up with tears, hatred for him burning fiercely.
The wedding chaos grew as Bryce, caught off guard by Whitney’s hesitation and Alex’s revelation, wondered when Sammy had been rescued.
Damn it.
With Sammy as his leverage, would Whitney leave with Alex?
