She was sure as hell that Shen Zichen disagreed with her and would try to change her mind. He'd been reminding her for weeks to prioritize her health and pregnancy and just leave Mu Jianyu if he couldn't come back to his senses.

He had a point but Li Xiuying wasn't ready to divorce Mu Jianyu yet, not until she'd made him pay for his sins.

"So what's your plan? I assume you won't be coming back here?" Shen Zichen asked her. He gave Li Xiuying's place one last look before turning away. He went back to his car and drove away from the apartment complex. Since she wasn't there, there was no point for him to wait.

"I'll have to fix the mess he left in the company first, then we'll see if he will repent." She told him. Then what? She questioned herself. Would she be able to forgive him if he confesses his sins and repents? Could she really treat this as a bad chapter in their marriage life?

"Ying, please don't tell me you're thinking of accepting him back." Shen Zichen asked her in disbelief.

A husband should protect his wife and shouldn't hurt her physically or emotionally. He'd warned Mu Jianyu before that he would be the first one to beat him if Li Xiuying shed tears because of him and now, Shen Zichen's fists were really itching to teach the bastard a lesson he would never forget.

When Li Xiuying didn't answer him, he was sure that she was considering saving her marriage.

"Ying, you shouldn't underestimate a man's ability to make you feel guilty for his mistakes. The only mistake you made was trusting him too much, and he has proven that he doesn't deserve it at all!"

Xiuying was precious to him and Yuyan. Shen Zichen had always prided himself for being accurate in his deductions but not this time. His logical mind knew at once that Mu Jianyu had betrayed Li Xiuying.

At first, he couldn't believe that Mu Jianyu would treat Xiuying this way. That he easily discarded the years of marriage he shared with Li Xiuying for a shallow woman like Lin Meirong. For him, it was like Mu Jianyu had thrown away a precious diamond for a worthless pebble. Cheating on a good woman was like choosing trash over treasure.

"Then what's wrong with me? Am I not good enough? Is that it, Zichen? Am I not good enough for him to seek another woman's company?" These were the questions that had been plaguing her since she discovered her husband's affair.

Shen Zichen shook his head. He had heard several stories of affairs from his colleagues before and one thing for sure, when a man cheats it wasn't caused by his woman's inadequacy, it's because he puts l.u.s.t and greed before love.

"It's NOT your fault, Ying."

How could she blame herself like this? It pained him to see how Li Xiuying was destroying herself because of that cheating bastard.

Li Xiuying was the sweetest and most gentle woman he'd known. How could someone hurt her like this? Did Mu Jianyu hit his head or something?

"I don't know, Zichen. I really don't know," Li Xiuying admitted. Night hadn't come yet but she was already tired. Even if it was due to her pregnancy, she wasn't sure if that's the only cause.

After hanging up on Shen Zinchen, she succ.u.mbed to a deep slumber. Not only was she physically restless but her heart and soul needed some peace. Tears slipping from her eyes as she dreamt of the happy memories she shared with her husband.
