After receiving Jonathan's call, Matthew immediately rushed to Sapphire Island, the headquarters of the renowned Babington Family in the shipping industry.
As soon as the plane landed, Jonathan personally came to greet Matthew with his entourage. "Mr. Larson, I'm deeply sorry. I know you have pressing matters, but my cousin's condition can no longer wait."
Seeing Jonathan's anxious expression, Matthew understood the seriousness of the situation. "Let's get into the car, Mr. Harrowsen. You can fill me in on our ride."
Once inside the luxurious car, Jonathan briefed Matthew on his cousin's situation. What surprised Matthew was the revelation that the Babington Family, owners of Babington Shipping, and the Harrowsens were distantly related through marriage.
Jonathan's cousin, Caspian Babington, was the heir of the Babington Family and the central figure in this incident.
The origin of the problem dated back several years. Under Leopold Babington's leadership, Babington Shipping had rapidly risen to become one of the world's top ten maritime companies in just twenty years, thanks to his formidable business acumen. It was even rumored that under Leopold's guidance, the Babington Family aimed to dominate the shipping industry worldwide.
Caspian, born into this prestigious family, was naturally ambitious. During an outing, he had a confrontation with a guy from a Dao-practicing affluent family over a woman, which escalated into a physical altercation. Defeated in hand-to-hand combat, Caspian turned to alcohol and engaged in drinking contests.
"My cousin earned the nickname 'Little Dionysus' on Sapphire Island due to his prowess. While he won the contest, he also acquired a stubborn illness," Jonathan explained. "Initially manageable, it worsened with age. Two days ago, he suddenly collapsed, his vital signs plummeting despite numerous doctors' efforts. I'm at my wit's end, so I had to seek your help."
Although Jonathan hadn't witnessed Matthew's skills firsthand, tales of Night Vine and other troubling issues, coupled with the miraculous elixirs attributed to him, spoke volumes.
Listening attentively, Matthew noted each symptom described. "I'll do my best," he said. Without having personally seen the patient, he couldn't make any definitive judgments.
Upon arrival at the grand castle, a silver-haired butler hurried out. "Mr. Harrowsen, they have been waiting for you."
"Alright." Jonathan wasted no time and escorted Matthew into the castle.
Passing through long corridors guarded by numerous security personnel, Matthew sensed the presence of skilled individuals hidden within the castle. Out of politeness, he refrained from scrutinizing too closely and simply followed Jonathan and the butler hastily.
Upon reaching the top floor via a duplex elevator, they found several people waiting. Several middle-aged individuals in luxurious attire greeted Jonathan eagerly. Among them, a refined lady stepped forward and clasped Jonathan's hands with relief evident on her face. "Jonathan, you're finally here!"
"Aunt Audrey, Uncle Leopold, I've brought him. This is the Holy Doctor from Cathay I mentioned."
Yet, as their gazes fell upon Matthew, he sensed a palpable disappointment in their expressions.
