Married by Accident, Taming the Billionaire novel Chapter 285

Chapter 285 Protect Daughter at All Risks

Once inside, the shadow quietly approached the bed, using a small flashlight to illuminate the area.

Indeed, she was incredibly beautiful!

No wonder she made Adam abandon his principles!

In Fujino's dark eyes, a fervor gleamed.

He also noticed the little girl lying next to her, but she posed no threat to him.

Fujino turned off the flashlight and was preparing to make a move. However, at that moment, a gunshot sounded near the mansion.

In the silent night, the sudden noise startled the sleeping inhabitants awake.

Cecelia, in a daze, heard the gunshot and woke up alertly. Opening her eyes, she seemed to perceive a figure standing by her bed.

"Remington..."

At first, she thought it was Remington coming to find her.

She instinctively called out his name, but the next second, the man's actions left her stunned.

A large, vice-like hand suddenly gripped her throat, cutting off her breath. The man's body pressed down on her.

Amidst her struggle, Cecelia realized, with a growing sense of awareness, that this couldn't be Remington. Remington wouldn't treat her so roughly.

Her throat was being constricted, making it impossible to produce any shouts, and her breathing grew increasingly difficult.

With one hand, Cecelia tried to pry the man's grip away from her neck, while her other hand fumbled for the nightstand, eventually finding a power bank.

Using all her strength, she swung it at the man's head. Fujino winced in pain, and his grip on her hand loosened momentarily.

Seizing this small opportunity, Cecelia pushed the man away with all her might and simultaneously kicked him as she got up.

She coughed badly.

Her throat hurt terribly, but there was no time to dwell on it. The man lunged at her again just as she began to regain her bearings.

Unable to turn on the lights in time, Cecelia had to fight in the darkness, relying solely on her instincts.

She sensed that her opponent was highly skilled, and she had no choice but to fight with all her might.

In the darkness, she managed to land a solid kick, causing the man to tumble away. Cecelia picked up the bedside lamp and hurled it at him.

Crash...

The lamp shattered, but the shadow managed to evade it.

The crashing sound woke up her daughter, who couldn't see her mommy and began to cry out of fear.

As her daughter cried in the darkness, Cecelia saw the man rushing towards her daughter. In a desperate act, she threw herself over to protect her.

As Cecelia held her daughter, the man grabbed her ankle, trying to pull her down.

Luckily, the door was pushed open, and Remington appeared just in time.

He was awakened by the gunshot, and upon coming out, he heard movement from Cecelia's room, so he rushed over to see what was happening.

Upon pushing the door open, he saw a black figure dragging Cecelia. Remington's heart skipped a beat, and he stormed into the room, kicking towards the man.

The two struggled in the room for a moment. Remington kicked Fujino out of the glass wall, shattering the glass.

Realizing he wasn't a match for Remington, Fujino couldn't succeed and had to abandon his target. He quickly dashed to the balcony and jumped down.

Remington followed him out onto the balcony and saw that the shadow had already escaped.

The bedroom was on the second floor. Remington followed the nearby drainage pipe and slid down swiftly, chasing after the escaping figure.

"Bang, bang..."

Gunshots echoed in the night. By the time Remington reached the main gate of Bluebell Mansion, the guards were already down, lying on the ground.

The gate was open, and the shadow had long fled, disappearing into the dark night.

Cecelia and her child were still upstairs, and Remington was concerned that chasing after the intruder might lead him away from the house.

Other guards and security personnel rushed to the scene upon hearing the gunshots. Remington had them handle the situation, investigate the surveillance footage, and track down the suspicious person.
